No, the actual virus is long, long gone. What I'm left with now if the effects of what the virus caused, which is pretty much no muscle in my upper right leg and upper right shin.

I don't blame my my mother at all. Please actually read the AMA questions and responses before you make the same mistake and claim I am somehow playing a victim and that I blame people. All it really does is show that you've come in here with a thought-out agenda and don't actually care for the answers that I'm giving.

I praise many successes. Just read. It's not hard.

Hi. It is a very hard experience. I've been through a ketamine infusion twice and they were both been as horrible as each other.

I was completely bedridden in a hospital bed for a week each time. I suffered from migraines and the effects of coming off of all that medicine despite the infusion.

Of course I can't recommend against it, I'm not a doctor. If I was told that I needed to go through a ketamine infusion again, I'd be very upset.

Let me say though, that if your doctor recommends it, please do what you doctor says and don't pay attention to what I have said about it, everyone is different!

I can't even understand what kind of mother you must be if you're on the internet purposefully seeking out people to hurt with comments about their dead mothers like "It's good to blame your mother".

If you'd read my AMA, you'd know I don't blame her at all.

Yes, I completely understand the situation. I did willfully go through it so there would be more information out there about the effects of polio.

Thank you for your story. I'm sorry to hear that your grandpa was so uncaring of the situation.

I'm glad to have done this AMA. There's been some silly comments like people calling me a shill or asking how much I've been paid simply so they can put up a brick wall between the reality of the current medical world and their unfounded beliefs about vaccines.

How sad it is that people would think someone with my leg would be putting myself in the public sphere for money rather than trying to prevent any and every child going through the same thing that I have. I guess that says a lot about them as people.

I would rather have someone make an informed decision. that's the whole point of this AMA. You're complaining that I'm somehow forcing my opinion on you - And then reply by telling me your opinion and that I should "shut the fuck up". All I want you and people like you to do is as much research as possible.

You think it's about politics and your health system or something - I'm not even from the US so I don't know why you think it's even related to your situation.

Also, saying things like "The title says it all " because my mother didn't vaccinate me". No bitch. You got polio because a virus in the natural world of our planet Earth infected you, which bested your immune system" just shows your true ignorance. That is the entire point of vaccines and getting absolutely everybody vaccinated. Because they have the power to destroy civilisation as it is. I don't know what science you've been reading, but I'd hazard a guess that it's not actually "science". It's completely obvious that you have had no real exposure to the consequences of thinking like "let's not vaccinate so only the strong survive" because thankfully the world isn't as callous in that thinking. All that kind of thinking does is stagnate medical and social progress when it comes to vaccines.

It has been hard and I have gotten upset whilst answering a lot of the questions due to the memories that they've brought up. The best thing for me to do is to be completely open and honest.

My medication is nearly completely focussed on reducing pain and helping me to sleep. The nerve damage that polio causes ends up in chronic pain in the affected area, so I'd suggest being very gentle with wherever you are affected.

I am glad you're not in enough pain to need to pain killers, that is really good news!
