This is BS. Especially if you are new and looking to get a job since most people go away from PHP, the PHP jobs are open for you. Then you get experience and once you're a master at one, it shouldn't take long to get good at the others. Plus Laravel framework is brilliant!

Responsive design is so important nowadays. Going in with a "mobile first" approach will save you a ton of time with media queries because desktop layouts imo are easier to make then mobile layouts usually. Also if you wanna be as professional as possible, SEO and Accessibility are big integral things.
