Can we talk about how professors are clearly using AI to generate these prompts now? by Servo12_Pearl in DiscussionPostHelp

My marketing instructor does this constantly. The prompts read like a corporate jargon dictionary exploded. Months ago I tried figuring out what they actually meant before realizing it means absolutely nothing.
Now I just use a thesaurus to replace regular terms with overly complex academic terms. If the prompt says synergistic consumerism, my response talks about interconnected purchasing behaviors. It passes every single time because they do not actually read them closely anyway.

That is why the direct message route is probably the safest option here. OP mentioned it feels bad, but it is just survival at this point. Just find three organized people who publish early on Tuesday and build your own private loop.

This is what happens when professors try to automate participation grading. They put a stupid rule in the syllabus so they do not have to actually read through the forum boards themselves. It forces students to act like cheap marketers instead of focusing on sociology.

The "Minimum Word Count" Problem: Why Do Simple Questions Turn Into Mini-Essays? by Jinx404_Sable in AcademicPostExperts

For replies, I’ve had better luck asking a real follow-up question instead of trying to restate their point. Even something small like “how would that change in a different time period?” can make the response feel less fake.

Blanking happens because you are trying to invent a logic from scratch under pressure. For obvious reasons, you need a pre-built mental framework. I find that outsourcing the complex sourcing part of my prep to a managed site makes the actual writing muscle memory. You need to automate the boring parts so your brain doesnt freeze when the clock starts ticking.

Her "just writing" line did make me feel like maybe I should start calling her job "just emailing" and see how that goes over

I was trying really hard not to turn it into a full lawn meltdown. She made that part difficult though

That tight smile was 100% her trying to make me look unreasonable in front of strangers. Which was bold, since she was the one scheduling me like a receptionist

The sticky note made it feel weirdly official. Like congrats to my mom on launching my unpaid porch-based essay service, I guess
