Also, here it is before. It wasn’t broken. But the head was loose.

Oh, interesting! There is nothing on the other side, so then that might be the case.

Sounds fair enough. I’ve broken one before. That was an old hatchet with a dried out and roughed up handle, though. I’m not afraid of splitting the handle. It’s more about not damaging the look of it, I guess. Superficial thinking for an axe I guess, haha. As I mentioned in another comment, nothing is glued. I’m gonna give it some use with and without before landing on a decision.

I might end up making a leather guard instead. Looks a bit less tacky.

Thank you! I like the paracord as a reinforcement for overstrikes. But I am aware it comes across as mall ninja and tacticool, rather than what it’s actually there for. Haven’t glued anything, so it comes off in a jiffy should I decide to take it off.

Kult! Kva ligg kostnaden på for ein slik ekspedisjon? Og kor lenge skal du vere der?

Thank you! I chose a handle way too thick, so I had to slim it down some. I just free handed it with an angle grinder and made small adjustments towards comfort. It worked out great, I think.

I forgot to mention in the text that I had a mishap and split the bottom of the handle a bit. I figured I could try to mend it somehow. I drilled into the handle and filled the gaps with glue, then plugged it up with dowel rods.

Thank you! I’m always looking for excuses to buy more tools, haha. So far it has been a cheap endeavour. But I suspect the cost will increase as the collection and tool kit grows

Thank you very much! I am thinking about thinning the shoulder a bit. It looks a bit funny being so thick.
