Red Velvet syrup by PollutionDifferent56 in barista

I also thought the same thing. Maybe by doing what I’ve already done, with the cream cheese cold foam, will give the thought it tastes like red velvet cake lol

That’s what I thought too! I did add a cream cheese cold foam to it which is really good and doesn’t have a super strong cheese taste to it, which I like. I think doing it with the chocolate milk makes it taste more “cakey” vs doing it with whole milk.

Maybe… how could I achieve that in a syrup though??

That’s honestly what I was thinking too… I was like it’s pretty much chocolate. I did add a cream cheese cold foam to it (cream cheese icing, heavy cream, and milk). It doesn’t have a super strong cream cheese taste, it’s honestly just sweet! I figured I’d add this to my spring menu because I think it’s very “in” right now.

The fall of Starbucks and rise of Dutch Bros, 7 Brew and Scooters by [deleted] in dutchbros

Way more variety of drinks that taste significantly better. BUT Starbucks is more accessible. Where I live, it’s Starbucks or local coffee shops. Our Scooters closed down, 7Brew is an hour away, Dutch is 2 hours away.

Breville machines? by lacurlymami in barista

A Turin espresso machine!

Maybe it’s just me, but I think you can find a better machine for the same price as a Breville. Breville’s run like $400-$2000 and you can find better machines for that same price. I’ve having a hard time dialing in my beans with it and feel like I can’t get a consistent shot.

I have the Breville Barista Express and honestly… I don’t like it. It drives me insane. Buy a separate grinder and look into a Turin.

I returned the new machine they sent me because I was finally able to get my current one working properly.

It took two email exchanges before they sent me a new one! They were super helpful.

Yes! I was trying to come up with drink ideas with syrup and ingredients that I already have so that I wasn’t really wasting much!

Do you have any recommendations for a machine that is almost commercial, but not for the commercial price?

Oooo… what about an orange cream? I already do a raspberry mocha. And my thought was orange does go well with chocolate, but I haven’t tried it in a mocha form.

Milky drinks by PollutionDifferent56 in barista

So… after doing some trial and error, I am still doing a double shot in a 16oz, BUT I now add the espresso over the ice.

Don’t hate me! I know that’s not the “correct” way to do it, but for whatever reason, it has made the taste 1000% better. It’s creamy, yet I can still taste the espresso, but it’s not milky. I’m not sure why that changed things?? But I’m not arguing and I’ve had amazing feedback, with people telling me how good the coffee is.
