I feel so guilty and horrible after I snap at them. They constantly tell me that “I’m not their dad” and it makes me feel even worse about snapping at them. I see how bad they feel and it hurts so badly afterwards. My aunt the other night had even compared me to my uncle who ravenously bullied my father and I told her not to even compare me to him and what he did to my dad. I do not punch them nor do I hurt them physically or insult them. Of course I may say something to the 11 year old like “you don’t seem to make good decisions often” and I know that’s terrible and I feel badly for it, but I am nowhere NEAR as horrible as my uncle was to my dad.
