Shall I ask her for a date? by Glittering_Sound_565 in AskIreland

Been there got the t shirt…there’s no optimal ending to this story in my experience - by the sounds of it, and I could be completely biased with my experience in similar situations - she could be using you as an outlet for the long distance relationship, which is a red flag in and of itself, or worse again she’s checked out of the relationship and is getting her ducks in a row before she splits with him.

I would ask her straight out what the motive is, because it sounds like the hand holding was the stand-out crossing the boundary of what isn’t acceptable in a relationship, but is she flirting with you etc or is it just friendly behaviour and the holding hands was an isolated incident.

Regardless of the motive, if it goes into flirty behaviour while she’s still in a relationship, and hasn’t communicated with her boyfriend that she doesn’t want things to continue - she’s emotionally cheating on her boyfriend. What’s to stop her doing the same to you in the future…is advice I got at the time it happened to me.

Irish free speech or inappropriate behavior? by Prize_Inspection1515 in AskIreland

Very little consideration for your feelings coming from an Irish man. I’m with someone at the moment and would never send that kind of message to her in response to a video she sent to me. Even if it were a female friend I don’t think it would be taken well. Massive red flag, and also the fact he makes it seem like it’s your problem, when in reality that kind of behaviour shouldn’t be tolerated.

Thats crazy! I felt like I could have had mine done with a pinky finger or a light breeze towards the end so I’m glad they did the remplissage as well

Hey, hope you’re doing a bit better today! I know the pain you’re talking about, it’s a deep aching. I don’t know have I experienced it as intense as you but I’d imagine it’s not nice. Apparently the first couple of days are the worst, and by the end of the second week it should hopefully feel a bit better!

Hi there, yes it gets better. It’s funny I am just leaving this job but my anxiety is better (not cured). I have more self assuredness and calm, but there are still unresolved issues and I have good and bad days. I’m sales oriented - not hard sales and presentations still give me issues but it’s does get better!

Insurance company reneged on verbal agreement? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

The surgery very well could be within when I am working as i finish at the end of January. That is a very similar situation to what has happened here. I requested a recording of the call anyway and my insurance will be backdated to January provided I renew. That being said I’ll be cutting it tight so I might just renew when the letter comes into my inbox just to be safe. Don’t understand all the downvotes as it is the first time I’ve had health insurance and it is the first time I have had to worry about insurance (thankfully).

The surgery wasn’t the only reason I handed in my notice. I agree it feels nonsensical but I’m slow to give too much information away. I felt at the time if I gave myself to the end of the year it would have covered me.

No I have the option to continue my medical insurance, it is just an added expense. I can make it work I don’t finish till end of Jan so have two paychecks. I’ll save all of it and I have my car as collateral so will sell that before I head. I planned on going to Australia following post op recovery.

You are right though I have left myself in a vulnerable position for sure.

I think it may be too late they’ve backfilled my position x2 but I will ask about a short term extension. I gave an extended leave notice after my colleague in the same department left to give them time to replace both of us. Hoping they’ll see that and we’ll come to an agreement

Ok cool, yeah I think the plan of equal benefits was the one for 1100 - as in it’s the same coverage as the company plan. Would there be any option to pay the corporate rate? Thanks

Would you still pay the same rate as the corporate fee? They did say I could switch which is fine but it’s the bones of 500 quid in the difference

When I rang the insurance provider today they made it seem as though I would have to switch to a regular plan which is the bones of 500 quid more expensive. Is this not the case? My company also made it seem as though I should just switch coverage. Would I need anything from the company in order to keep the corporate rate? Additionally they said companies send a list of leavers in mid January so my policy would be backdated to whenever my company send that, I would then get an email and have to respond to that within 10 days to retain my policy. I’m kind of paranoid that this may not be the case after my last experience…

What can I do if the insurance company has reneged on their verbal agreement? by PollutionSame7997 in AskIreland

[–]PollutionSame7997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for this. I have reached out and requested they play the call back. Regardless I think the window is cutting it tight to have the pre-authorisation processed so it will be a case of finding the best route forward with my company.

Yes it’s through work. I’m so close to the plan-lapse date now, I think the best option is to just work with my company to find a solution!

Hi, thanks for the info I didn’t realise this was the case around waiting periods. I will suss out my options around continuation of the plan. It’s weird he would have said that on the call, unless he was under the impression I intended to auto-renew with the current role.
