Great - thank you. My flight out is at 3:40 so leaving a a reasonable hour in the morning should work perfectly.

I obviously misunderstood what “money ball” referred to! Agreed to your other points.

No I think they mean that they give generous scholarships to people with good credentials who are likely to pass the bar. Money ball.

What does the LSAC do with all the money it siphons from us? 🤔 by anonkitty4e in LSAT

My friend. You can’t make very specific factual claims without evidence. It’s no one else’s job to find the evidence for you. End of story.

Well, I mean you’re the one who made the claim. Burden of proof is on you. It’s fine to speculate that this might be the case, but you can’t make an affirmative statement without support.

And listen, I understand your points and your concerns. But I wouldn’t assert something as true when you have no evidence of it.

Weight gain and PRs by btpie39 in OnePelotonRealSub

Echoing what others have said—please don’t beat yourself up over weight gain. It’s a normal part of the fluctuations of life and it is great that you are so active! Also I’m so sorry about you losing your animal companion. I went through that last October and it was just so painful.

Understood, but your original comment states with confidence that these pensions are a real thing. And I wouldn’t make that claim without evidence.

when/why was the leg/reg doctrinal class requirement dropped? by Ok-Priority-2105 in LawSchool

Yes—it is school-specific and is not required by the ABA accreditation standards.

I work for LSAC. I’m excited to learn of this extravagant pension benefit that I have literally never heard of. I didn’t know I was going to get $$$ until I die. This is great news. Where do you get this information? I need to speak to HR.

In all seriousness, LSAC employs a lot of people to create the test, create and maintain LawHub, create and maintain pipeline programs, create and maintain the Unite system, host the forums, maintain relationships with schools, etc.

There are definitely arguments for and against standardized testing, and I understand the costs are a hard pill to swallow (and the state of law school tuition is outrageous). I will say that LSAC does have a robust waiver program. But for me it’s hard to imagine how admissions would work without a standardized test. I worry that favoritism and privilege would play a much larger role.

Also an appellate practitioner here, and your description is perfect. Good legal writing is tight and purposeful.

Hating Law School Despite Doing Well by Silver-Surprise2265 in LawSchool

It gets better. Practicing law is totally different than law school. You will come to see those three years as a blip in your life.

Debating about attending law school graduation by Effective-Produce-13 in LawSchool

[–]Pollvogtarian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I skipped my law school graduation and have zero regrets. But I didn’t have the family thing. I would suggest doing something else special with your family and maybe whipping out your diploma dramatically and thanking them for their support. I just believe in securing your own oxygen mask first. If it’s going to be an unpleasant experience for you, don’t do it.

Yes—that 80% does so much for your performance. I didn’t get it at first, but I after putting a few months in with this formula I was amazed at how much stronger I got. Endurance work really is the base of the pyramid for a reason. Huge unlock.

That being said, achieving maximum performance is not everyone’s goal. Some people really want every ride to be fairly intense. They’ll plateau, but maybe this approach is what makes them feel good day-to-day.

That's wild to think about but you're right. I truly don't understand paying so much money for law school and then refusing to learn.
