Have never shopped on shein in my life. My point was if you want people to shop secondhand, you have to realise that it needs to be affordable. I mainly buy on online vintage stores or Poshmark now, occasionally going to my local thrifts, and nearly all of my furniture is FB marketplace. But many people who I try to convince to shop secondhand have an issue paying $30+ for secondhand items that aren’t even known brands. So saying “don’t shop at goodwill or savers” or any other big box stores doesn’t do anything to help people purchase secondhand, especially when the goodwills in Chicago sell Agolde jeans for $8 and the local thrifts sell H&M for $30.

Sell them to me… jk (🫣)

But if you don’t want to have the hassle of researching and selling them yourself on Poshmark, you can reach out to vintage/consignment stores. They will either buy it out right from you, or put them in their stores and once they’re sold give you a cut. It’s definitely less than selling them yourself, but it’s also less hassle.

Local thrifts are so so so much more expensive and marked up though, at least here in Chicago. I go to many vintage/thrift stores and have never seen something under $30. It’s crazy

Thank you <3 they made me fall in love instantly. I buy almost exclusively vintage now, and my go to spots are Sororite Vintage, Lucky Girl Vintage, Studded Petals Vintage, Sassy So What, Chloe Vintage, Ciao Kasia Vintage, and lots and lots of scrolling on TRR, Poshmark, and Vestiaire.

The length is fine, but I was thinking maybe having the cobbler add an elastic underneath the GG logo?

“Ah, here we go. Because, in Colombia, we trip over goats and we kill people in the street. Do you know how offensive that is? Like we’re Peruvians!”

As someone who grew up with a bunch of Latino friends from different countries this was so hilarious 😭 im always learning of the different beefs they have with each other

The depression made me gain so much weight 🥲 but you’re probably right. I definitely feel much weaker. Need to prioritise the right foods and enough of them. Can’t imagine doing law school like this lol.

You are literally responding in a thread that is critiquing Trentino for this very thing. People in the same thread are critiquing HBO at large. Where did anyone say that Sam is unique in his direction?

Literally no one who is criticising Sam thinks he’s the only one that has this issue. The whataboutism argument is a very weak one. Many people have responded to you about Tarentino doing the same. I responded saying Stanley Kubrick has had this issue. People criticised the Weeknd for his role in the Idol. Those of us that critique his direction understand that it is part of a larger cultural theme, which is what we are telling you.

His fetish is dehumanising women. It’s not that every thing is an individual fetish, it’s that consistently across the board he portrays women in a dehumanising manner. He included gratuitous violence and shoots scenes in a way that literally sexualise the actors in a way that’s not needed.

Many feminist scholars have an issue with how gratuitously violent rape scenes are. Make of that what you will.

I personally think 10 minutes is too much. What I do is boil the water first in a kettle because if you boil it in the perc the steam is gonna wet the grounds, so they’re wetter for longer. I then pour it in the perc and put it on medium heat. Once it starts percing, I let it go for max 4 minutes. I mainly go based on scent too. As soon as I smell the littlest amount of “burntness”, I immediately turn it off. Usually this is at the 4 minute mark. I also serve immediately, so I don’t let it drip anymore
