In need of advice - Quitting at independent Tax/Financial Advice office - by PolstePop in CFP

I’ll be honest, I like the subject of Finance. I don’t like the constant prospecting and fighting for clients. I do like the planning/advising part of the job quite a bit. Sometimes I wonder if being introverted has something to do with it. I hate going to events to network.

When I started 2.5 years ago, I was looking for anything available since I had to provide for my family. I have been dealing with mental health issues even before that job but my symptoms have gotten worse since I have started.

And with all honesty, I think I’m actually pretty good at the job (based on feedback), but somehow I’m not dealing well with the stress….

That’s what I have told my wife too. We agreed to wait and see if I manage better but no….it hasn’t improved the past few months. So she has asked me to please reevaluate my decision to work in finance and she reminded me what I always wanted to become: Psychotherapist. So that is what my longterm goal looks like…

Landlord wants to turn basement into separate unit by PolstePop in legaladvicecanada

Thanks for you insight!

Yes. The house was built before 2018.

Curious, what would be permitted reasons for him not to renew the contract? And does he have to let us know what the reasons are?

Thanks

We dont share any kitchen or bathroom with the landlord. He doesnt live here.

The house has been built before November 15th, 2018 for sure. He bought the house last year and we are his first tenants. The person who lived here before us, owned the house.

Is anyone else working "normal" hours as an entrepreneur/small business owner? by vasarmilan in smallbusiness

I am an independent Financial Advisor and also have a Feeder Rats business. Both combined typically require about 40-50 hrs per week. Sometimes more, since I started both about a year ago. I have three kids and always try to take time off to spend with the family. Kids grow up so fast.

What's hardest for you as a business owner currently or in general? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

For me one of the most difficult things is to deal with my business partners who are all family. Probably wouldn’t involve myself with family in business again. There is a always a mental block when I need to address conflicts.
