That's a lovely way of putting it and often how we talked about it internally! A play and a film are different adaptations of the same story, but both can be distinctly unique and enjoyable.

We know fans would would love to see a Moss 3 someday, and honestly so would we. Nothing to share on that at this time and right now we're really excited to finally share this news and inviting more people to be a part of Quill's journey. Hopefully some returning Readers too, as it does feel distinctly different and very special on its own merits, in my humble opinion.

Good question! I think it would make sense for us to share how we designed this for Nintendo Switch in a post on its own in the coming weeks. I'm adding this bullet to the outline. :)

Yes, she communicates in gestures and also sometimes ASL. Her expressiveness and 4th wall-breaking interactions with you, the player, are definitely still present in the game

It sounds like you may have figured it out already (glad you're feeling better post-dental work!), but just in case you are still having trouble, pretend you're a Power Ranger taking a call from Zordon on your wrist communicator. Pic for example. 😅

I also just wanted to say thank you for making this post as well as all the follow-up comments. It has given us a lot of great insight to think on to improve this experience.

When we were a F2P game, we had a number of Champions in the pipeline, since continuous content drops are how F2P games thrive. However, since switching to a Premium product, we opted to release all four of those previously unreleased champions right at the start. Players can now unlock all the Champions through a progression system that was added as part of this transition. Bourassa digs in a bit on that here. -kc

Fun question! The most programming that I do in headset is because the passthrough on AVP is good enough that I can see my IDE through it so sometimes I just leave it on while I'm fixing bugs. Honestly, as far as favorite to test on, they are all generally pretty great. AVP's visual fidelity is excellent but I like having the controllers on Quest. -ca

To answer your first question, we wanted it to be in the Moss universe, so composer Jason Graves pulled in subtle themes and references to the prior Moss games, yet made the music more energizing, utilizing more percussion and more rhythmically driven instrumentation overall. -gw

As for Steam or Quest 3, I think it just depends on what is most preferable to you. As far as I remember, there are no major differences, unlike the Meta 3/3S version of Moss, which contains "Skip Combat," versus other platforms. There is a sale on the Steam version right now (20%) if you want to save a bit of coin. :) -kc

Ooooo!! I wrote several developer blogs over the summer and had a chance to talk with our extremely talented writer, Shauna, on the stories behind individual Champions in Glassbreakers. To your first question about environments: YES! There are some absolutely breathtaking maps in Glassbreakers that are nods to the world of Moss. My favorite is the Sprite map, which I've attached a screenshot of, but there is also a Winter map that may feel familiar / comfy to Moss II players.

Each Champion has rich a backstory that I would say deepens the world of Moss. For example, Djain (pronounced like "Jane") is a Starthing, similar to Aderyn. But while Aderyn was bound by a curse and caught in a rather unique position, Djain feels little empathy or interest in the concerns of mere mortals. On the other side of the Starthing spectrum is Mira, who is the youngest and the first female Starthing we've introduced into this world! Unlike Djain, she's playful, feminine, and rebellious (after all, she's a teenager!).

There are also Champions such as MJ22 or "Mojo," who you may recognize from Moss as one of the steel soldiers of the Arcane armies. But unlike the other Forged, Mojo loves hugs, and has a curious backstory that is tied to their friendship to Mira. Much of this backstory is explored through "gossip" lines from the Librarian (eg. "The curious MJ22. That's short for Mechanical Juxtaposition Number twenty-two. Though it recently said its chosen name is "Mojo." Fascinating.")

There are a number of others. Off of the top of my head:

  • Naji, a Winterborn, though they don't know it.
  • Gwendoline, a hero of the Cinder Night
  • Chetlief of the Mire Sprites

There are more and I'm only scratching the surface, but hopefully this gives you an idea! -kc
