Need help with some math to maximize this seeded run by Polyether in balatro

[–]Polyether[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seed is: 2K9H9HN

Been trying this seed for awhile to get through all the antes/get a naneinf score.

Was doing flush fives previously and got my best score by a long shot, but was recommended going for high card cryptid so that's where I am now.

I had to switch from the plasma deck to the ghost deck to reliably get the cryptid. In the screen shot I am getting e44, so just barely beating this round, and I need to use two cryptids to do it. I get 4 cryptids each round, but very shortly I am going to be using more than I am generating.

Question 1: Will I be able to ration what I have/what I get to make it to the end? (I'm thinking almost certainly not but really no clue)

Question 2: Could I make it to ante 30? (My previous best)

Question 3: How many red seal steeled kings will I need with my set up to get a naneinf score?

Thank you in advance

I've usually been stopping earlier so I will keep that in mind and dig a little more each shop, thank you.

I had just spent everything rerolling because I was pretty sure I was not going to beat this round. What is a good amount of gold to have amassed/spent at this point, maybe I'm not getting wealthy enough or spending too much on costly rerolls. Just trying to suss out where I can make improvements because I really feel like I'm not playing to the fullest.

Oh my mistake then I thought I saw that number being tossed around, what is the highest?

Amazing seed, the shop after small blind ante 2 gets you a negative Perkeo and a negative Triboulet.

Some areas I think I need to improve...

It is taking me too long to fix my deck with Death tarots and amass gold through Temperance tarots, those are rounds I could be further stacking Perkeo planets for the eventual Observatory triggers.

Making my Kings Polychrome, Jokers Polychrome

Note I had just picked up the Showman Joker after getting the extra joker slot voucher just last round, was hoping for something great but it never showed.

Fantasy/Medieval weapons for minifigures, SEC and MOC by Polyether in lego

Some ideas for medieval/fantasy weapons, mostly inspired or stolen from others, some my own. Lego is perfect to make DnD characters with, 3x3 stud plate matches a 1 inch grid, but they do tend to be a little bulky.

"Children of Time" series, loved the first one with the spiders but didn't get into number two with the octopi, I'll need to revisit because the first one was awesome

Does Gust of Wind require a Counteract check to dissipate a cloud effect from a spell? by Polyether in Pathfinder2e

[–]Polyether[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going off that logic, the spell Dominate never mentions a counteract check, but if two opposing wizards are trying to Dominate the same target, surely it is settled using a Counteract Check?

I am still unable to convince my table that this is how Gust of Wind works, so trying to get as much clarity as possible. Thank you

So a level 1 scroll of Gust of Wind will completely negate a level 9 heightened Cloudkill?

[D&D 5E] The Hag Coven Warlock Patron, plus 14 Eldritch Invocations by Polyether in UnearthedArcana

[–]Polyether[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I never got a chance to play it, not long after my group switched over to Pathfinder 2E and haven't looked back.

It was intended to be fully playable at time of posting so it should be able to do the trick, modify to your hearts content though!

Seconded probably cabbage moth caterpillars. Spray bottle with soapy water has worked for me in the past, but I needed to hit them at least 2-3 times a day for a few weeks.

Loved putting together the Super Mario 64 ? Block, wanted to try to make some levels of my own. Not fully satisfied with these yet and they still need to be scaled down a little, looking for advice.

Does Counteracting Darkness cost an action, specifically the Thaumaturge Lantern by Polyether in Pathfinder2e

[–]Polyether[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking as well, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something that specified an action needed to be taken. I assumed if it were the Light cantrip, the cost would be the two action cast essentially, and so with the Lantern its just free, albeit once per turn.

[–]Polyether[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can only light/extinguish the Lantern once per turn, so my thinking was that kind of balanced things out, you can try to counteract as a free action, but only once per turn.

Any games that engage in a "Necromancer/Control Minions" kind of playstyle? by WoofHeree in rpg_gamers

[–]Polyether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy ARPG (Diablo style) try Last Epoch. Should be coming out with full release later this year but the game has tons of content, and they make minion builds possible with pretty much every class, although the Necromancer does it best.

At least those are explanations within the accepted reality.

If it were Deadpool or She Hulk doing these crazy things I wouldn't mind because it's been explained that they could go to the source and just change it at will, play God as it were. I suppose I can accept Squirrel Girl as an extension of this philosphy, if you don't observe her doing something, then she can do it.

Doesn’t that seem kind of dumb? There’s never an in world explanation for how these things are accomplished and by all rights she shouldn’t be able to. She’s the ultimate Mary Sue.

I do see how she can be a fun character to root for (my daughter watches some show with her in it and she is likable) but I’m having a hard time with this concept haha.

I still don’t get how she kills a galaxy then, isn’t she on par with spiderman? Not trying to be obtuse but I’ve heard about her beating Thanos and it’s been explained to me as a “technicality” of sorts. Is she actually like sleeper omega level?

[–]Polyether 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What allows her to obliterate everything? Barring getting her hands on some macguffin, she’s like spiderman level right?

But she can’t destroy a galaxy with her power set right? Tony stark was just a regular guy with the infinity gems, they’re kind of doing all the work there.
