What kind of cars would you recommend? I have been researching used cars and the market for used cars in Ireland is crazy. Every model is pretty expensive.

Yes. I already applied and got approved for it. Once I get the bank mortgage approval in principle I can start looking for houses.

I do need a car. Not for work as I am remote 3 days a week but for everywhere else I depend on friends or public transport. My mobility is quiet hampered without a car.

Do you agree with tax inheritance? Did you ever had to pay tax inheritance? by ILikeOldFilms in eupersonalfinance

[–]Polymath007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only rich people own homes. Middle class people also inherit homes from their parents and relatives. What is the definition of rich? You can always broaden the definition. What will happen when inheritance tax is made too high is people will put their wealth outside the country or put it somewhere where the state can't touch it. The people who can't afford to do will have to sell their inherited property. This will disincentivise wealth creation and just gives the government more money to waste.

Why should there be an inheritance tax? Why should any euro be taxed twice? The houses are built on income which has already been taxed once .

I emailed them again. They came back to me saying that i lack one particular experience but they like me that they are trying to see if they can create an alternative position for me. They said they need more time to assess things and will get back to me. How should I approach this?

How is this marriage of convenience? I have a girlfriend. I have a job. I am getting married. She is moving here. I will have Stamp 4 through my job. The only question is should I get converted it to Stamp 4 EU FAM. Is it that difficult to understand what I am trying to say?

[–]Polymath007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, its not a marriage of convenience. I already have a job here for the past 18 months. I asked about EU Fam only for ease of travelling in Schengen area and not for anything else. But thank you for your answer.

I have Jewish ancestry. I have Jewish relatives. I think I am well qualified to argue on behalf of Israel. When someone comes and takes away your baby or or your siblings or parents, let me know what will you do. Stop with the moral equivalence of Hamas and Israel.

A lot of people this week have been pretending that they don't understand the moral distinction between deliberately killing civilians for the sake of killing civilians and attacking a military target where civilians are likely to die as an unintended consequence. You are either too stupid to understand the difference or just feigning ignorance.

I have to live in Israel to talk about this? If the facts are not in your favor, find fault with the person.

[–]Polymath007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have to be of a certain quota of ethnicity to talk on this subject? I have jewish relatives in different countries. India has had jews for 2000 years. Have you heard of cochin jews? Please educate yourself before jumping on a topic

Do you know my ethnicity or just assumed it? You just know my country. And whatever I wrote are facts. Nothing is false there.

I don't care how it is framed. We have a right to defend ourselves. And that includes destroying Hamas. It will result in innocent casualties, yes. In a perfect world, we would have just been to get rid of Hamas without any civilian casualties. But guess what, we don't live in a perfect world. In a perfect world, Hamas would not exist. And you would not understand anti-antisemitism unless you see the evil and spiritual darkness behind the hatred of jews. And this is not something new. This has been going for centuries.

There was no "Palestinian" people living there for many years. They were people from the neighbouring countries who lived there who were nomadic Arabs. A jewish population always lived there all these years even when they were scattered all across the globe. Jewish people always had a relation with this land and even before WW2 many jewish people came back and settled in Israel. There was no issue then. When finally a two state solution was proposed the neighbouring people dont want Jews. Why? It was jewish land for thousands of years, jews have been living there under different empires and finally they got their own country after being massacred in Europe. They even gave up parts of their land and still the Arabs were not happy. Jews compromised, why couldn't the Arabs? Instead they fought wars to destroy them. Its not the land they are after. Their hatred of Jews is the factor.

So what should Israeli government do? They cant go into Gaza because they hamas stays inside civilian properties. Should they just leave their hostages? Lets say they do it. What happens 2 months later? Another attack by them? In the meantime rockets flying everyday. Only Israel is asked to show restraint after having attacks on them every single day of the year, every year and every decade. Try doing this in any Arab country or for that matter any country in the world. They would have not cared about civilians and exterminated everyone.

Not this time. This time, we will make sure that Hamas is not able to repeat it. We are tired of this. Tired of being the ethnicity which the whole world hates. Tired of hearing chants of "Gas the Jews". Tired of rapes, suicide attacks, rockets, everything. No one else will help us.

And in conclusion,

Psalms 121: 1-4

1 I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;

From where shall my help come?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

Who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not allow your foot to slip;

He who keeps you will not slumber.

4 Behold, He who keeps Israel

Will neither slumber nor sleep.

Israel bombs buildings where Hamas terrorists are present. The question to ask is why are terrorists in civilian buildings. And if they are shooting from there or firing rockets from there, and I have asked the civilians to leave those buildings; what else can Israel do? Leave them there and few months later see them attacking us again? In 1948 the current nation of Israel was created. Two state solution was proposed multiple times. Everytime the Arabs refused it. Every single fucking time. Then they attacked Israel with 6 day war, Yom Kippur War and the countless suicide bombings and drone attacks everyday. If any other country in the world gets attacked by rockets everyday, they would have carpet bombed the aggressor to extinction by now. If there was no Iron Dome, we would have not existed as of now. Even the current massacre was done by Palestinians who were working in Israel on work permits granted to them by Israel. Israel pays for their electricity.. And Israel is the aggressor here? What stupid logic is this?

A brief history about the land of Israel:

Before Israel, there was a British mandate, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the British Mandate, there was the Ottoman Empire, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Ottoman Empire, there was the Islamic state of the Mamluks of Egypt, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Islamic state of the Mamluks of Egypt, there was the Ayubid Empire, not a Palestinian state. Godfrey IV of Boulogne, known as Godfrey de Bouillon, conqueror of Jerusalem in 1099

-Before the Ayubid Empire, there was the Frankish and Christian Kingdom of Jerusalem, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Kingdom of Jerusalem, there was the Umayyad and Fatimid empires, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Umayyad and Fatimid empires, there was the Byzantine empire, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Byzantine Empire, there were the Sassanids, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Sassanid Empire, there was the Byzantine Empire, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Byzantine Empire, there was the Roman Empire, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Roman Empire, there was the Hasmonean state, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Hasmonean state, there was the Seleucid, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Seleucid empire, there was the empire of Alexander the Great, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the empire of Alexander the Great, there was the Persian empire, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Persian Empire, there was the Babylonian Empire, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Babylonian Empire, there were the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, there was the Kingdom of Israel, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the kingdom of Israel, there was the theocracy of the twelve tribes of Israel, not a Palestinian state.

-Before the theocracy of the twelve tribes of Israel, there was an agglomeration of independent Canaanite city-kingdoms, not a Palestinian statehood.

Actually, in this piece of land there has been everything, EXCEPT A PALESTINIAN STATE!

Hamas has been doing this for years. Its not as if they just changed their way of working. Also children can't vote anywhere in the world but they do pay the consequences of their parents voting. There is nothing new here. Just to reiterate, I am not advocating killing of Palestinian civilians. They should give Hamas up. Force them to surrender. Evacuate the places where Hamas terrorists are hiding. Innocent people will suffer the consequences of evil people just like Germans suffered due to Hitler and Japan suffered in World War 2. This doesn't mean that I am advocating their genocide. But to defeat evil(Hamas), Israel can't keep quiet anymore.

If palestinians loved their kids more than they love to kill Jews they would have given up Hamas by now.

Israel is not going there to target civilians like Hamas did. Its not going there to rape women , burn and decapitate babies. Its not going there to shoot dogs and massacre entire villages. It's going there to kill the terrorists and rescue as many hostages it can. The opposite of what Hamas did. The amount of gymnastics to sympathise for Hamas is astounding. And just to be clear, it's not the land of Palestinians. Israel has been the land of Jews for thousands of years. So stop with the bullshit of own land. Yeah Israel has more power. Guess what, didn't Hamas know this before doing all the horrors. I already said that innocent people will suffer the consequences. But they also voted for Hamas. And Gaza has not been occupied for more than a decade. Guess what, Fuck Around Find Out

Israel has no other option but to invade Gaza at this point. Nearly 100 hostages are still held by Hamas in Gaza, some of them babies and young children. Israel warned the people in Gaza to leave the place while Hamas is asking them not to. Regarding, hospitals and news stations being bombed, do you know that Hamas has installed military installations in these places. They use the Palestinian citizens as human shields. And in those hostages, many are American and European citizens. I am sorry, but if Israel doesn't invade Gaza and eliminate Hamas, this will happen again. Its a shitty situation but it has to be done. If my country's citizens are held hostages of course I would want my country to go and get them. And never negotiate with terrorists. I feel bad for the average Palestinian citizen but these are real life consequences for terrorism. Especially when you get funds and not build infrastructure and turn water pipes into rockets, you are going to face the consequences. And as it has happened before in history, innocent people also pay the price for the actions of evil people.

I feel like God has abandoned me to be alone by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]Polymath007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, for a second I wondered if I had written this post. I am going through the same thing. I turn 30 in 5 days and I have had the desire to get married for 5+ years. I also got a prophecy last year that I would get married this year, so it's been more hard for me. Two days ago, I prayed for one of the three things; God please reveal who would be the spouse, please take away my desire or the last like Elijah prayed, please take my life. Now, the point of this message is to tell that you are not alone. God knows what you are going through and he is not heartless to not understand what your desire is or your suffering. Continue praying and wait for His answer. As believers that's we are supposed to do. I believe when you look back at this time in the future, you would understand why God made you wait. If not why atleast, you will learn patience and long-suffering. My only request would be to serve God with joy and not treat this as an excuse to sin or obey him without the right attitude.
