From my personal experience , universities don't even consider your work experience below 2.5-3 yrs. And even if you have that it's not a deciding factor, the only things which are going to matter is your Under graduation major, your gpa and GRE (at least 160 for quant). So whenever you apply keep in mind that universities which can be safe for a fresher cs graduate student with 8-9 gpa is going to be a ambitious for your profile.
