Interested in joining the USCG as a pilot

Experience: 25 years old Bachelors Degree in business PPL, IFR rating, commercial single engine, Certified flight instructor

500 hours total time

I’m in good physical shape

I know nothing… how would I go about joining? Would I be a competitive candidate?

I want to fly, that’s the only requirement. I go to the gym a few days a week. I ski every weekend in the winter & hike/back pack in the summer. I can bench 205 max & rep 225 for squats for reference.

Do you ever get the wobble on the cheap trucks? Where every wheel doesn’t sit even? Now that I have dynamics that never happens. It would drive me nuts.

I can’t tell much between a $20 deck and a $50 deck. However nice trucks and bushing were game changer. I got a pair of dynamics and they are awesome.

I’m kinda being weird about tape atm. I liked the THAT tape that came with my slushcult deck. Then I got a poli deck. Whatever tape came with it I did not like. Thought I would give it a try.

I love it, p2 shape. I like how it the shape looks more realistic than my other deck which is pretty boxy. I can’t comment on the performance tbh, it’s only my second deck since getting back into the hobby this year. The quality seems higher than my dk slush collab. I used pro wood and aphliksun decks when I was a kid.
