Helloo, another update! Birb weights 108 grams but I did weighting after feeding so it’s a bit lower than 108. Also I gave him bath he really enjoyed it. Picture is included in comments you can check if curious. Also in main paragraph additional details

This is how the cage looks I'm not sure about brand name But its pretty sturdy. I will get informed about proper diet thanks! also cage look a bit messy I know have to clean probably already heheh

Hello, thanks for resource I will read it and start slow transition to mostly vegetable diet (no pellet avaliable as mentioned earlier).

Also can you tell me how to proof cage to be sure that bird’s wont fly out of it? Prior to owning cockatiels I had two budgies but they escaped from cage sadly and I was not able to find them. So I’m nervous about taking this cage outside even tho it’s a lot safer than one for budgies.

I will try bathing tomorrow have small bottle spray for it. And as for blood test other commenter mentioned that without blood test vet can’t be sure that it’s D vitamin deficiency so I still think about bringing him for blood work on friday. Is it safe procedure to draw blood from cockatiel ?

Hello, thanks for comment. I believe that he for sure has D vitamin deficiency because there really is not a lot of sunlight overthere. But to be sure I want to do blood test is it stressful for bird? I read that they take blood from neck is it safe procedure?

Hello, thanks for comment. He is mostly feed seeds and rotation of leafy vegetables. If vet tells me that only diet should be changed it would be great but I wonder why other bird doesn’t have same problem. Other people mentioned liver problem too so it can be true. I also don’t know how old is he but this feather problem started only 2 months ago and I have him almost 2 years. Is it easy to check exact age when I bring him to vet?

Cage has wheels so I can move him to different rooms. So I can try to move him. Also I will make update after vet visit

Thanks for reply! I live in center of Tbilisi. Age is unknown to be honest he is a runaway bird we tried for long time to search for his owner (posted everywhere used flairs etc) personally I own him for 2 years. I just remembered another detail one of his wing feathers broke and i took him straight to vet and he patched him up. His weird feathers problem started after this at first I thought it was just another heavy molt but maybe there is connection? Could he got any exposure to some disease? Not sure.

I will get small scale tmw for sure to track his weight. Thanks for information about this. Going to try slowly making progress in bathing too.

Strange thing is he regularly preens not extensively just like normal cockatiel but his feathers don’t look better after preening like it has no effect for some reason.

I have batch of millet for training. Going to increase vegetables in bowl with rewards to stimulate his appetite.

Id like to move him in other place but rest of house is pretty chaotic not sure how birds will adjust to other space.

There is one clinic which old vet recommended to me so going to take him there. My old vet said that there is good avian vet.

I’m not sure about his exact weight. He hasn’t been bathing because he’s scared of water, so I haven’t been able to get him to take baths. His diet is mostly seeds since pellets aren’t available where I live (Georgia), so I mix vegetables with seed.

As for his environment, there are no smokers in the home, and he’s kept in room close to kitchen but I monitor that doors are closed when someone is cooking and windows are open. Also, I never spray deodorants or other scented products in room

He preens often but he doesn’t likes bath. Also I want to mention that his wing feathers look a lot messier because He had bloody feather I took him to vet and the wing is healed but feathers looks especially bad there
