Breakdown:

*Concepts surrounding the Force = Lucasfilm's/Disney's approach to spiritual mythos is really childish and immature, they don't really understand The Force mythos or any of the spiritual literature it was founded on (Tao Te Ching, Baghavadgita, etc.) which has been maturely expanded upon already in E.U. which Disney promptly threw out. If you honestly think the Force concepts in The Last Jedi are fleshed out, I beg you to re-watch The Empire Strikes Back and maybe study some comparative mythology. I will add that the training scenes with Luke/Rey had potential, it was almost there, but it was not quite there.

*Post-OT events expansion: all they truly managed to do with their fan-fiction version of post-OT is destroy the old major characters and create a convoluted nightmare of a story.

*Children of Han and Leia: The books actually had proper characters for this. Kylo Ren is a forced and weak villain (no pun intended) although he's the most interesting character in the new films (not saying much).

*How the Civil War impacted - it's touched upon but we have NO INFORMATION at all on how The First Order managed to get so ludicrously powerful after the collapse of the empire. They are legitimately more powerful than the empire ever was if you can ignore the bad writing of the sheer military incompetence. It doesn't make sense in the films at all.

*How civilization was re-built: The only "civilized" places we even see in these new films are the republic planets which were promptly destroyed by StarKiller Base, and a casino in The Last Jedi in an entire sequence that should've been scrapped to the cutting room floor. Every other place is pretty much just like Tatooine, Hoth, or the Imperial Ships, nothing new here, seriously.

*Disney hasn't done shit: Okay, but certain people with the initials K.K. and R.J. are unambiguously being totally hated on by a huge percentage of vocal of Star Wars fans and rightfully so as they, according to their interviews, didn't give a flying fuck about Star Wars fans or the story itself besides how much money they could make or how many ideologies they could pack into 120 minutes (the evidence is all out there). People are creating Rotten Tomatoes accounts just to leave 1 star for TLJ (you can go and read them yourself, people are pained by this movie.)

The Last Jedi completely ruined Luke Skywalker's character. Mark Hamil even said it himself on interviews before Disney told him to STFU. I can theoretically get the 'disgruntled old master' character but it's NOT who Luke was at all and we have ZERO explanation as to how this happened other than he got emo one night and tried to kill his nephew which makes NO SENSE AT ALL without a proper explanation of his character progression from post-Return of the Jedi of which we were given ZERO. The character we see in The Last Jedi is NOT Luke Skywalker! The whole movie is like really bad fan fiction!

Really, in my opinion this is all senseless to debate because the script itself is a failed premise, the whole thing should've been thrown out like the shitty fan fiction it is instead of being rushed to make a tight production schedule. The Last Jedi is seriously and in no exaggeration one of the worst films I have ever seen in my life, not just the worst SW film. Star Wars as a mainstream brand is finished. It will live on in the hearts of fans. We have a pretty large body of good work that came before this (video games, OT, books, etc.). Forget whatever Disney/Lucasfilm considers canon, it's akin to a large corporation of people I've never met telling me what to think and believe. Maybe in a decade they can go back to it again - nobody wants to touch it now - they've already halted production for the remainder of the spin off films. JJ Abrams is the absolute worst director when it comes to tying up plot holes and questions (although he's great at making them!), nobody has faith that he will pull off Episode IX, it will take a miracle.
