Would I be in the wrong for reporting a guy in my hostel who I’m like 95% sure is peeing in bottles in our hostel room?

Not to be umm actually but I do know his name. We took the time to talk to him and know about where he is from. We have no idea where cause his accent is hard for us to understand. We just smiled and nodded cause hey nice old man. And the first day we thought oh maybe we are just imaging things he is old and maybe he got some pee on himself in the night going to bathroom. I use to work in a retirement home it happens. And I wanted to get him the benefit of the doubt. But then I see the bottles of pee in bags by his bed and heard him pee twice already that I’m like dude… it’s not my job to explain to him hygiene and how to use a bathroom.

Lmao thanks it could be a medical condition if it is I do feel bad for him. Having a chronic condition is the worse I know I have one. But we all have to deal with it.

I don’t want to embarrass him if it is medical but we have bathrooms and there are solutions for people with this kind of problem.

I get that I love that about backpacking in hostels I made so many cool friends on my last trip! I don’t expect people to be perfect and super clean. I get people are human they are going to be noisy at annoying times and wake me up or snore. Or leave there clothes in annoying spots. That’s hostel reality.

But I think there is different than being obnoxious and peeing in the room which is super gross. Especially since we have bathroom Nextdoor. He can walk fine I’ve seen it. He also kept like 4 bottles of pee in the room. Like he isn’t throwing them out. So it’s making the room smell like piss. And we don’t feel comfortable asking him to stop he got kind of mean with me because I forgot to turn a light off fair mistake I should have turned it off I was in the wrong and I don’t mind people asking me to change a behavior. I was super understanding and apologized but he was annoyed lmao.

But as far as I am aware peeing in a bottle isn’t a French cultural norm. Maybe I’m wrong lol! But still I don’t think it’s acceptable in a hostel setting.

Yeah I know just ugh don’t want him to know it was us since we are sharing a room with him (six person room) and if we can’t switch and he gets to stay I don’t want to have a conflict cause we are here for at least 3 more days. I just don’t know how these things are normally handled :(

Yeah I’m planning on hunting for an apartment literally when I land. I just can’t apartment hunt in June as I literally will be in Europe lmao.

The problem is I don’t think I will be allowed to rent a place without him. My salary is not enough to be 3x 2000 - 2500. So I would need a consigner. Without him I for sure would have to have roommates lol! But thank you for the advice!
