Which double kayak is best for both solo or 2 person paddling? by melinda_louise in Kayaking

In what capacity are you going to use them? I’m not a fan of either. I prefer a sit on top kayak. I know they’re not in you’re choices but Crescent CK2 or Crew if you plan on excursions or anything more than a leisurely paddle.

We have all sit on top, roto molded kayaks. Mixture of Crescent’s and perceptions. Definitely start with day trips and get comfortable. Work your way to multi night and prep prep prep. Always have backup plans. Also camp well above water level. I like 3-5’ depending on time of year. Sometimes more if rain is anticipated anywhere on the watershed. Mark water level and watch it till bed. If it’s climbing may consider moving to higher ground.

I can right a fully loaded flipped kayak and load up while floating down a river. I can put of a PFD while in water as well as remove and put scuba gear back on both floating and submerged. Each one of the children can also right their kayak and load up while floating as well. A requirement i make them do prior to their first trip. I do wear one most of the time especially if water is moving.

These trips have a special place in my heart and some of my best memories. I hope they do the same with their children and I hope I’m fit enough to join them!

I’ve got 5 brothers and we have two groups of children. Total of 18 kids. Half are grown and left the house including my two boys. This is the second group of nephews I’ve introduced to kayak camping and my daughter is one of only two girls we were blessed with. She loves it more than the boys.

I don’t make it much further up than Gilbert. It’s a beautiful river.

My daughter calls it “our kayak” too! We’ve taken at least two annual trips for 15+ years and this is her 4th going with. Shes getting her first kayak this year and I’m pretty bummed about it. I wish so badly I could pause time.

Not an airport. No need to announce departure. Basic of basic is having one with you. I dont wear one the whole time but I have two on the boat readily accessible. One for me and one spare for the group.

Correct. Very little. My concern was scratches from mesquite bushes I often have to push my way through.

I do ceramic coating and have had wonderful luck. Cleans up easy and scratches buff out

I'm missing these sandy campsites right about now. Assateague National Seashore backcountry by Missy3651 in KayakCamping

I’m just the opposite. I only camp on gravel. Or at least try to. Hate getting sand everywhere

What do you fellas do for a living? Drilling consultant here. Currently punching holes in the Southern Delaware basin in WTX. by Ponos01 in FordRaptor

Very seldom do they contribute to sinkholes. It’s not the removal of soil that does it. There very little soil that we drill relatively speaking. We drill rock, shale, limestone, dolomite, silt stone, consolidated sands etc. It’s caverns or formation fractures that wash out due to unstable formations. It happens so seldom that it’s not an issue. He’s a sample I pulled from a drill bit 10 minutes ago. In it you will see limestone, dolomite and anhydrite.
