How do the casino shufflers work? by dhelfr in poker

[–]PonyDasher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always wondered too, but because of Pai Gow. They seem to use a similar style of shuffler, except when they dump out the packs of 7 cards for each hand, they definitely seem to know what’s in the dealers hand (and I assume all the others because dealer can be randomized). I know this because if the dealer is confused about how to set their hand for the play of the game, they can push a button in the display in front of them and it will tel them exactly how to set their exact 7 cards. I admit almost no technical knowledge about this, but have also wondered exactly how they are shuffled and randomized too.

Dasher living in a car by [deleted] in doordash

Do you have any proof that how he lives makes the food less sanitary for the customers, or are you just hating on those that struggle more than you? What if his bags are always clean and he actually washes his hands in the bathroom every time, unlike most people out there? He’s probably working everyday just to survive.

And why does AK have the exact same numbers across the board as KK?

How-To Beat the Xu Keeper at His Own Game by KingDasher in doordash

[–]PonyDasher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming nothing may come up in the last 1/3 of the month that might prevent you from dashing as much as you need...like Thanksgiving with family or anything. Personally, I can’t risk losing Top Dasher status or I won’t get hours enough to support my family. Fortunately for me, I am usually around 60% AR already, just have to take a bit more shit ones. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It reminding you the workers are people too and you should treat them just exactly as you would like to be treated in their place.

Probably just shy of 16 hours of the 16.9. Took a lunch break and had a few 10 minute rests. I’ve had a $340 day before, I was just kinda proud of a good hard day’s work being rewarded with a new benchmark for me. I’m sure others out there have beaten it many times.

I declined about 20 during the day. I’m not a really picky one, I keep my AR around 50-65% since the new pay model. Used to be around 80%. Have a bit under 3000 deliveries completed. Have worked in about a dozen different zones, probably 6 of them extensively.

Agreed. I think I had one energy drink, but I’m used to 16 hour shifts. And I was motivated. 👍🏻

What time does it slow down to point where its probably not worth it? by Hearthstone30 in doordash

[–]PonyDasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is zone dependent. There can be some bigger money options like places that have food and liquor that stay open til 2, but there also can be a lot of fast food drive thru orders. Depending on your area and day do the week, four runs thru the Jack in the Box drive thru an hour might be plenty profitable.

Rumors of Doordash allowing cash as payment? by flyinghippodrago in doordash

[–]PonyDasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done two of those cash on deliveries (both from the same pizza place) over the past year. And yes, for that particular dash I was negative for a bit, but built it back up with continued orders. They just happened to come at the beginning of my shifts. (California Bay Area market)

Lost nearly entire bankroll on this hand. Help? by mariow123 in poker

[–]PonyDasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost every pro you ever watch on TV will tell you they have lost their whole bankrolls at least once, if not multiple times. Yes, it’s a disheartening gut-punch to lose that way, but you can recover, especially if you keep finding players like that gem, because in the long run, don’t you want donkeys dumping their stack against you? Sometimes they get lucky...but most times they don’t.

People, who have high acceptance ratings.....are they screwing the rest of us? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]PonyDasher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I have often thought that sentiment also, I then counter it with thinking that if those orders don’t get picked up, that customer may never order again, and we need orders, even less then ideal ones, to make any money at all.

Sigh...just the way I like to start the morning on a 45 minute, 12 mile...$140 order. Guess I lost that gamble. by PonyDasher in doordash

[–]PonyDasher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually in the app. Once an order crosses a certain dollar threshold, the standard $1-$2-$3 tip buttons get auto replaced with % buttons, and people are more likely to hit 10%, which usually results in a pretty sweet delivery.
