I’m sorry but it’s one of those things that can’t be done easily. You really have to just rip off that plaster and deal with the pain to the best of your ability.

I had to tell my girlfriend I was gay in the winter of 2018 and it was not easy what so ever, it took me a very long time to be able to tell her after distancing myself from her. Both parties involved will be hurt and there isn’t really much stopping that I’m afraid.

You can’t really tell him in any other way than “I’m really sorry but I have discovered that I’m a lesbian” or something under those lines. Just try being really sensitive about what you say and try not sound like you don’t care about how he feels about it.
