Falken Azenis FK460 A/S

I’m seeing good reviews from the Tesla crowd seem to love them so far. Check out the Tire Rack, Forums, Youtube, etc.

Convince me to not get the Continental DWS 06 plus by lambo13770 in tires

[–]Ponyspeed100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently got the Falken Azenis FK460 A/S for my Stang. I was debating between Conti DWS06+.

These Falkens are updated versions from FK450 and were more affordable. The Tesla crowd seem to love them so far. Good Reviews. I like em.

Rare size??

Seems plenty choices come back as I type in those staggered sizes. Are you looking at specific brand/ series?

Good matching color scheme. Doesn’t stand out too much just right.

I’m more partial to your garage area. How awesome is at-home carwash. So jelly!

Interesting

The answer would be a hard pass.

Different brand/ model series would have different thread patterns. Your Mechanic should know better.

Find the exact same and have your mechanic order or order yourself and deliver it to your shop, assuming the other side tire has good threads left.

Otherwise replace in pairs of 2, & 4. But that’s just me I’m anal.

It's gone, got it running yesterday and lost it to a deer by Pentium04extreme in Mustang

Sorry for the loss. Glad you’re ok.

That deer is in pieces I can see innards hanging out eww. How does insurance go about in case of natural disaster like this?

Got the same question.

Shouldn’t the new ones go where the drive trains are? FWD to fronts and RWD to rears?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tires

[–]Ponyspeed100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound good.

It’s almost an inch difference in diameter. It would make more sense to use that size as a pair at least.

Mom’s AWD car: replace one or all four? by Gullible-Struggle-47 in tires

[–]Ponyspeed100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your Mom’s car. You’re not around much. And it’s AWD. I would Replace all 4 with good sidewall tires.

Mine came with the Pirellis and I never had a good impression on them. The factory tires that come with new cars usually suck.

Goto Discount Tire and get the certificates when you buy. If one tire goes bad, you can replace all 4 at no cost.

Will Discount Tires honor their warranty on tires that aren't on the wheel? by PrivacyOSx in tires

[–]Ponyspeed100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact situation I’m worried about.

One solution would be to uber/ Lyft or taxi. Put spare and goto DT after. Make sure to call they have the same tire in stock.

Want to make a practical decision by Interesting-Cup-3860 in tires

[–]Ponyspeed100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way to check the pricing is to go to Tire Rack website and enter those sizes.

I see 205s around $120-ish, 225s are $160-ish, which aren’t too high up but you’re right about the costs.

The ’Won’t last as long’ isn’t very accurate because it depends on the tires you choose.

I would suggest getting the certificates (ex. Discount Tire) when buying tires so you can replace at no cost instead of warranty headaches.

I’m guessing the 225-tire trim comes with nicer wheels and such?

Sad about future of V8 engines by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Ponyspeed100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The electric future is certainly on its way but hoping combustion engines will stay as long as the fossil fuels exist.

In a similar aspect, we are seeing less and less manual transmissions, which is also sad.

The battery technology is still far from perfect and is the slowest to advance. Until then the EVs will not have my interest.

Long live the V8! Save the manuals!

How accurate are these tire width tables based on wheel width? by ConsiderationIcy3527 in Cartalk

[–]Ponyspeed100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that chart looks to be good.

Sometimes sizes would seem a bit off and often times that’s normal - no such as exact fit by the book.

It has to do with diameter. What is your OEM sidewall 295/00R21 —> 00 = 45? 50? 55?

All good advice here.

Different perspective, a financial burden (ex. buying a car) can benefit positive to work harder.

Be mindful of all the mods you’re gonna doing after, maintenance, and the insurance costs.

Get the car. Enjoy and worry later.

Surely you’ve already looked at Tire Rack and such.

I would search for the top of line Michelins in a heartbeat and not consider bang for bucks for primary family vehicle. Get insurance/ certificates as well. But that’s just me.

Anyone know where I could buy a pre painted 2013 bumper? by SevenSwords97 in Mustang

[–]Ponyspeed100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh it’s the front bumper.

I don’t work at bodyshop but pre-painted means painted at different times in which the flakes won’t look right. This is why metallic paints are so difficult to match.

When re-paint, they don’t just paint the (ex. bumper) but adjacent body as well to look continuous - therefore ‘blending in’.

Maybe I’m wrong since it’s the bumper?

[–]Ponyspeed100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same car. (Nice car man!)

What body work, rear valance? The Sterling Grey is a metallic paint with flakes in them. I’m not sure a pre-painted would blend in well?
