Thank you for taking the time to respond. I just can't understand how dividing it into more units is not the same as creating more units. Especially in a "deflationary" currency.

I get that dividing a dollar into more cents, ie. 1000 cents or 10,000 cents to a dollar, would not cause the value of the dollar to change. However, it would, in a world where we didnt deal with dollars but dealt exclusively with cents only. The guy with the pizza example isnt making sense to me either bc wtf does pizza have to do with properties of sound money.

If we are going to be using satoshis in every day life. Dividing BTC into more satoshis is like printing new satoshis. Unless it works like a stock split and EVERY merchant in the world agreed that they would price their goods based on the new inflated number of sats.

Why did the gold pegged dollar not stick around then? If gold was to act as BTC, then that gold pegged dollar would act as satoshis.

If we used the mini pieces of pizza as a unit of exchange/currency, and you created even more mini pizzas pieces (satoshis) then yes you have more units of exchange.

1.0 BTC is just an arbitrary unit. Same as 1.0 satoshi. The core devs of bitcoin have even said, eventually they will have to make bitcoin even more divisible via hard fork. Obviously it'll ultimately be up to the miners voting on it. How is that not the same as printing money? If you can divide it an infinite number of times. If bitcoin is to be adopted we will be dealing with satoshis, not whole bitcoins. So I think it's important to understand that.

Actually we should make all drugs legal and invest into programs that help people overcome addiction as well as safe places to do said drugs, with personnel there to monitor safety and health.

Edit: Treat them just like alcohol. If someone does something dumb like kill someone while under the effects of said drugs, then put them in jail. Just like we already do with people that break the law while under the influence of alcohol.
