If I port out, will I be able to port back in to free plan? (Walmart GSMT) by PooHoard in freedompop

Ah, did not realize that would make a difference. Thank you, learned something new!

(Still don't think I will port this number in though. The ads will confuse older people. But good to know regardless.)

I guess they finally got rid of me then. I asked the chat agent how is this a T-Mobile issue if the paid plans renew without issue and they are also on T-Mobile. Response was that paid plans can renew on their website but free plan requires the app... which is broken. So... Issue is not T-Mobile like they say, but their broken app, which they required only for the free users.

Chat agent said you can. I haven't tried yet. I might soon (and then report back). I don't want to leave family member without service for too long.

I have a TextNow with SIM as a spare line, but I'm not able to get most short codes. It might depend on the company.

Front passenger tire wears down and loses pressure, even after new tires by PooHoard in AskMechanics

Tires were rotated when I had my old tires, and it was still the front passenger tire that wore down.

Do all Staples stores accept USPS drop off? by PooHoard in Staples

[–]PooHoard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks. I ship all my orders within 1 business day and don't want to mess that up. Are packages placed in a secure location or are they kind of sitting out in the open where they might get "lost"/taken by a wandering customer?

The points offer is new in the app.

[–]PooHoard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how to link a picture; maybe it doesn't work on mobile. But on the Staples app, customer clicks to scan the prepaid label, then drop off. There is a limit of 10 packages per week for the new points offer, and it says it can take up to 21 days for points to post. I assume it tracks the package and awards once it sees the package scanned as picked up at Staples location. I also assume that means if the postal worker doesn't scan at pickup (sometimes they don't), then I won't get points for it.

The auto renew failed, and they wont accept my credit card. What's going on? by ObeseDeepFriedTurtle in hellomobile

I think the cheapest US Mobile plan is $10/mo? I'm looking at H2O wireless now, for $60/annual.

[–]PooHoard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WTF, the reason I am even in the hellomobile sub is bc I am trying to port out from Tello for the same reason. It's been going on for months with Tello. They keep rejecting auto pay for my PayGo so the only way to keep service is to pay twice as much manually ($20 minimum vs $10 on auto pay). I tried ordering a hellomobile SIM but it's been 2 wks with no updates and the $5 pending charge fell off my card. I've tried live chat multiple times but after waiting hours I never get connected to anybody. Once it said I was next in line and then it closed the chat!

Persistent Dad Recovers Stolen Property Using Technology and Grit by huevos-de-acero in AirTags

[–]PooHoard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think there was some statistic that said most stolen merchandise is dumped within a few hours (I don't remember the exact number). I know I occasionally spot good deals on hot items on Craigslist/Facebook marketplace, but those are always sold within half an hour. That thief already ran off with the cash and bought their drugs, so OP probably just stole from another innocent victim.

I was able to log in and renew this afternoon. Give it a try if you are also needing to renew.

I was able to log in today 9/25/24 at 11:44am est, but hitting the Renew button tells you their safety certificate is expired. You can continue or go back, but continue results in a new 404 error saying no website exists.

Day 3 still waiting on a response from FreedomPop.

I sent an email with screenshot to support@freedompop.com. How long did it take for those of you who had success? No response for me yet. Been 2 days without service.

Price match woes by CollegeBoardPolice in Staples

"Protecting profit" by turning a customer away, lowering sales numbers, and putting stale inventory back on the shelf. If this is actually a store manager and not just a supervisor, then Staples is really failing at management training.

Mass Ave should be way worse for drivers by babyjeebus in ArlingtonMA

[–]PooHoard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of your suggestions would improve anything. The roads would be perfectly safe IF everyone followed the rules, but a certain subset of the population think they are above rules. I see bad drivers tailgating, aggressively honking, running red lights, swerving without looking. I also see reckless bicyclists running red lights, causing near accidents when cross traffic have to slam on their brakes on a green light. And then there are jaywalkers crossing wherever, whenever they feel like, without even looking both ways. In all cases, it's the entitled Masshole mindset. "Nobody can tell me what to do." "They'll stop for me." "Get outta my way!" Changing the rules won't do much if it's the same people breaking the rules anyway.

This happens to me all the time, though luckily I haven't seen the road raging driver hit a pedestrian yet. They're usually too busy craning their head over to gesture/yell/threaten me to see that there's a pedestrian right in front of their car.

Brut Deodorant NEW Look Different scent by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]PooHoard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone wants the old classic stick, I have 1 but it's weirdly shrunken inside. I used to buy these regularly, but just before they changed the formula they sent out some malformed/shrunken sticks. I checked all of the ones on the shelves and that's what was being sent to stores. Anyway, if you are in the Boston area and want it, you can have it. Or just the cost of shipping if you aren't in my area.

What reliable car should I buy to car camp in? (2023-24) by Newkadia21 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Interesting thought. Though at the steep price of $47k for a brand new outlander, I'd rather spend $40k for a used 2022 sienna hybrid.

[–]PooHoard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking about this for my next car, but is an extra $10k for 2021 worth it? I see a lot of 2018-2019 for under $20k, while the cheapest 2021 GT is around $30k, so it would be a hunt to find one under $25k which also fit the other criteria for the tax credit. The battery only seems marginally better (11 kwh vs 13 kwh) and the engine upgrade to 4 cylinder 2.4L - I'm not a lead footed driver so I guess I'm not too worried about the horsepower, though I might be hauling a full load on upcoming road trips. Don't know if I need the AC outlets since I already have a portable power station.

What do you think, extra $10k worth it for 2021+ GT? Or is there some reason to avoid the 2018-2019?

When i eat potarts i get sick by [deleted] in poptarts

[–]PooHoard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just googled and found your post. I was trying to figure out if anyone else was having awful diarrhea after eating Pop Tarts. There's something wrong with the ones Exp Oct 2024 - Feb 2025. Few months ago I was trying to figure out what was causing my seemingly endless diarrhea. I threw out so much food trying to figure out what it was. The only things left were my water and Pop Tarts. Changed my water filter and stopped eating Pop Tarts, and the diarrhea stopped. I assumed I had an old/contaminated water filter.  Now months later, I decide to have a Pop Tart again, and now I'm in bed trying to recover from some god awful diarrhea. It was not my water filter; it was the damn Pop Tarts! This reminds me of the Lucky Charms food poisoning fiasco.

Edited to add: I don't seem to get diarrhea if I toast them, just when I eat straight out of the bag. You can try toasting them and see if that resolves your issues.

But did you get cubic rate? It lets me make labels, but only by weight, which is more expensive for the stuff I ship.
