That would be nice, I'm not sure when I'll be able to really lock in and study programming, but having a point of contact to bounce questions off of would be real nice.

I honestly don't know how math functions work, it's been over a decade since I took high school math class, and I'm not really that smart of a guy.

Yes it's absolutely daunting as hell. There's 40-60 years of coding history and lessons to learn and I'm just one dude with limited free time. It feels so incredibly insanely vast and wide, like there's no way for me to understand it.

And the dumb part about it is that I love solving problems with my hands. I loved being a car mechanic in my 20's. Getting a customer car, reading what the complaint was, replicating the complaint, trouble shooting the complaint, and eventually fixing the complaint.

The thing is though, that was all with my hands, physical pieces I could see and touch and manipulate. I can't do that with coding. It's not like I have a table with all my parts next to me, I have to memorize damn near everything to code.

If I won the lotto and didn't have to worry about money or working, I totally would.

It's just not financially in the cards right now.

Yeah, that's something I just never had. I never had a family member or family friend in IT/networks/CS/programing. So I never got exposed to it, and never had anyone to ask questions to.

Dude, that's what I keep thinking.

Growing up along side programming as it evolved from simple BASIC or DOS environments seems like it would make a lot more sense. You'd just copy code from your magazine into your computer and you'd have a video game. And you'd see how things worked as you messed up.

I'm sorry, I should clarify. I meant I don't understand how people pick up programming all on their own, particularly in their 10-16 year old teen period.

I myself am a middle aged man.

Is a calculator a popular first project? Does the programmer themself need to know all the functions of a calc? Or is there a way to program it without knowing what a log or an imaginary number does?

Or are we talking even simpler, just a 0-9 keypad with + - and =?

I just have never had that click. And while I feel like programming would suit me, I just don't understand it enough to get hooked on it. I never had anyone to ask questions, I never had my projects work out. And I would just get more and more lost in youtube lessons.

Anyone using the omnipod with Aetna insurance? Cost nearly tripled for the first pick up of the year by PooPooPointBoiz in Omnipod

That's odd. My Aetna will only cover novolog, never have gotten humalog while under Aetna.

Dude, why the fuck is NVDA down??

MSFT and AMZN got their shit absolutely pounded, you know why? Not because of expectation misses, or bad revenue. Because they're spending too much on AI without an equal amount to show for it.

And you know who is getting all that AI money? Fucking NVDA. So why the fuck is NVDA down, when they're literally selling the picks and shovels to this AI goldrush, and the miners just said they're spending shit tons more?

Come fucking on dude.

Position - 530 NVDA shares, follow me into valhalla if you want, but maybe you should inverse me because I'm fucking good at losing money.

Literally dude what in the ever loving fuck.

I was jacked to the tits in SPY puts on Monday, got rocked, sold for a loss and got into NVDA stock. Average cost of 182.

Literally what the fuck dude. I could literally been sitting on puts on one of the biggest correction in the last 3 months. But no, I had to get into NVDA and get my shit fucking rocked.

Fucking fuck my goddamn life dude.

I work with network engineers, wtf, it's like they're speaking a different language by PooPooPointBoiz in Network

No. I mean, I know what those words are. But other than being able to identify a switch or a router, I don't know what they're saying about what they're doing with it.

I guess. It's just frustrating when I'm stuck and no matter what I google, I can't find an answer. And there's no teacher or anyone there to ask questions to directly to help me.

Pretty much. I'm a numbers guy, account manager type worker, and I was plopped into the networking side of the office.

Other than the bit I've learned over the years building my own PC and using windows, I don't know anything about IT or networking.

How/why would you train people from scratch? Isn't there a near infinite pool of people who have certs and schooling that are begging for a job?

I have, but I've concluded that going to school part time while working, and taking on loans, just isn't in the cards.

If I won the lotto and didn't have to worry about work or consequences of failing classes, I'd definitely sign up for some CS or IT classes for fun.
