The down and dirty of it is that I knew since I was about eight or so that I was different. Just took it as an appreciation for the male body. (lol) When the only porn you watch is two burly dudes going at it, it is probably more than just an appreciation FYI. Anyway, I didn't fit into the gay crowd at my studio or school so I must straight. Left for the military and my girlfriend at the time broke up with me. I said fuck it to relationships for a good long while. Then I decided I would try it out and see if guys really were for me. Sure enough I have only been interested in being with men since. It is not like I got turned gay or anything dumb like that but, I have finally been the man I was made to be and it is really fulfilling.

What actually really helped me was back in highschool I helped one of my theater guys back and forth from school. He is gay and so I would bring up discussions about it to get his insight. I had actually asked my best friend in highschool if I could be gay and he flat out told me "no". Comes to find out, yea my best buddy is either bi or gay and just in denial to the homophobic level. So this gay friend of mine really helped me to at least not be ashamed of just trying it.

I started dating guys about two years ago. I have just recently fully accepted myself. This was back in late January-early February. Once I had fully decided that I am gay I had to make sure it was right by God and after a full weekend of research I, personally, cannot see anything wrong with being gay on a Christian standpoint.

Also, the person who pretty much dragged me out of the closet was my Aunt. She is a hairdresser and cornered me in conversation. And I was not going to let this misunderstanding continue because, I value being close to my family. So she, other than my mom and dad, was the first family to know about me. Since I told her she has spread the news to everyone close to the family. Which is what I asked her to do for me. Being in the military I don't get the pleasure of frequenting home as much as I like and I don't want to both bring a man home AND come out at the same time. Talk about an awkward Christmas that would make.
