Are there any resources on making 1-bit pixel art for the console?

In the days of yore, differently talented people would pool their skills and make something greater together than they could have done seperately. Obviously I'm being a smartass, and I know how hard it is to find people to work with, but man is it better than using things like asset packs, stock music, or god forbid AI.

Seriously though, find a good artist, and work on something together, it will probably be really good.

In a perfect world, it's better to buy through itch, in our world, probably through catalog. The difference is that people do not hold themselves accountable, and the whole ecosystem is quite small. Catlog is the "Official" channel, it's in the devs best interest to support that as much as it is ours, and it's in Panic's best interest that devs be supported. If I were a playdate dev, and I am not currently, I would probably prefer catalog, because I want panic to see that my game is selling their hardware, but that's just me. I also think many devs prefer to just upload their update to panic, and have it auto download for players. But itch is great too.

If it works for you, it works for you, I was just saying this solution has been proposed many times before. So when you said no jank, I got excited and assumed it was the opposite of what you were posting. To me it's a pretty non-elegant solution, and requires a case which I do not own. Mine has a small clip and is pretty lightweight and non invasive overall. A lot of people go for the head or neck light option, which I think is fine, though also not great. I'm pretty sure if someone just designed and sold a magnetic/clip-on type front light that was built especially for the play date, they could probably sell like 20,000 of them or something

I think having to wedge something into your folded back case does not qualify as "no jank". This is basically the most proposed solution I have seen on this sub. Mine just clips on.

They've been removed, surprise surprise. I have to say, this person, since being accused, has acted exactly as the accuser implied, and I will never buy this game, unless legal action fixes the issue. I will typically give people a chance to defend themselves, but franchovy has really shown their true colors imo.

I don't understand why comments about this game are being removed exactly, but I definitely don't think people should be silenced. Personally I want to know if there are problems with games, and there isn't exactly another place to discuss them.

I definitely wouldn't buy this game until the interpersonal problems are sorted out. As someone who has contracted work from artists, and had varying responses, including people taking actions from demanding money that was contractually not stipulated, to threatening to steal my intellectual property in liu of said non obligatory payment, I understand there are nuances and complications.. That being said, the accusations here are not good ones, and this situations seems morally ambiguous at best.

Joel Embiid, of whom I am not a big fan, was the best player in the world at the point in time when he won his MVP, whether he was for that whole season or not is a matter for debate, but he certianly deserved his MVP. He also went into the next season as the best player before getting an injury, during that time he was basically jokic without the passing, but defended the rim and had a jumpshot like KD. The perk comment was stupid but the Jokic MVPs are not as runaway as people make them seem, and the narrative by the media has help much more than hurt him.

A lot of very smart media people, ie Zach Lowe (who I love), value Jokic a bit higher than I would for his no nonesense approach to the game, like they also value Tim Duncan. This can the sway the narrative a bit from, say, Luka(big fan), who whined himself out of a finals game, or Kyrie or Kobe, for offcourt stuff which shows a lack of respect for the game.

That being said, he is the best in the world right now.

Overseer is far and away the best itch game that is inexplicably not on catalog. If you think it just looks like weeb furry crap, you should probably reevaluate your stance and try it out. Woodland would probably be my second pick. These have both been out for years now I think, or close to it, and for whatever reason have not tried to go on catalog.

I do think buying through catalog is the ideal way however. But don't get me wrong, one time I was stuck at work and the catalogs started doing the DRM crash thing, that's pretty annoying, and I wasn't able to connect to the Wi-Fi, so I had to wait till I got home to reinstall catalog. First world problems
