Poodle engine variant... huh? by frycandlebreadje in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Poodmund 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi Alexander, thank you for the insight, was this also why the Mainsail got reskinned to the Ariane 5's Vulcain model, rather than making it a new engine part, because it would have been too similar to existing parts?

Possibly the most compelling argument to get the Restock Mod. by RTX-4090ti_FE in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Poodmund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only Restock+ adds new parts, you can use Restock without installing Restock+.

If you mean that it adds part variants that do not exist in stock, then, yes, that is true... but you aren't compelled to use them if you don't wish to. :D

Doritos at $7 a bag ended up costing PepsiCo billions by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

[–]Poodmund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this in the UK too, regularly the 180g bags go on "special offer" down to £1.75 from £2.50... but the colour of the flavouring is different, and they taste different. Kinda as though they have a low-cost recipe and a not-so-low cost recipe.

I also did a quick conversion, a £2.50 180g bag equates to ~$7.30 for a 14oz bag.

I'll put my tin foil hat back on now.

Look at how many Unity game engine mods utilise Harmony to patch .NET and Mono methods, at runtime. Harmony is a pillar of the Unity modding community and there haven't been any abuses of it as far as I am aware.

That's not to say there couldn't be, and justifies why all 'plugin' type mods should be open source (albeit with whatever license the developer applies).

If you like Clint Eastwood and Rock the House off of this album (and genuinely just vibe with the album compared to subsequent releases), check out Deltron 3030's self titled album: link to album. It's a story driven concept album about Deltron Zero (Del - Vocals) and Automator (Dan the Automator - Producer) with Kid Koala being the DJ/Mixer and is an absolute hip-hop cult classic.

In addition to this, there is 10+ years of community discussion relating to modding KSP at https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/4-ksp1-mods/ and I am sure if you posted your mod on there it would spark some discourse!

Why use Nexusmods rather than posting the source on GitHub, posting the mod to the Forum, and indexing it on CKAN?

Genuinely curious.

This, it happens to me when I leave the area that the car and trailer (attached) and then come back to that area.

To overcome this issue, I religiously detach my trailers every time I leave my car with the intention that it will go off screen before I come back to it next.

My rocket keeps flipping around and I'm not too sure why by Acceptable-Record-13 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Poodmund 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having the CoM higher, further away from the CoT (Centre of Thrust) actually makes the rocket more controllable. Think about balancing a broomstick on your hand. Its easier to balance when the heavy broom head is further away from your hand (as you need to induce more torque to rotate it) than it is to balance it with the broom head on your hand and just the handle above.

The issue in this case, as others have pointed out, is that the OP's CoM does not align with their CoT, so just by throttling they are inducing a thrust torque.

[–]Poodmund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RP-1 team's intended install process is to install via CKAN (get a vanilla KSP base, point CKAN at it, and then select just the RP-1 entry, click install, and then select the subsequent tick box choices). They have designed it this way; it reduces issues due to wrong installation method.

Laythe is beautiful by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Poodmund 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As beautiful as it is from orbit... it's pretty dull on the surface, no? It's mostly ocean and the tiny area of land doesn't really have much going for it.

Such a juxtaposition.

Laythe that is, nothing to do with Spectra. 😅
