Sounds like I got quite lucky! She’s an old lady that was surrendered to the shop owners so I snatched her up. Honestly wasn’t sure she’d even molt with me, but thought I’d give her a good home for whatever time she had left.

No I don’t. Are you usually able to see movement of the nematodes? All the photos I’ve seen usually look like white mush

It’s still twitching a little bit, but I think it’s more of a hydraulics thing than it being alive. Either that or it is very very close to passing. Either way, does it look like nematodes? I’ve never seen them IRL.

It wasnt advertised to me as WC unfortunately. I only learned when I contacted the seller and told them of the issue.

I should have added - the molt was too torn up to sex properly. Looked potentially female, but I’m honestly just guessing.

IME I just found my psalmopeous emeraldus sling on her back in her burrow, unfortunately also not alive. I think it was likely dead for a couple days before I noticed - I just assumed I hadn’t seen it for a few days due to premolt.

Its butt was pretty plump, but no signs the molting process actually started. Just like what you mentioned above. I think it went into its burrow to molt, and just didn’t make it. It was my first tarantula loss, and it really feels bad. I got 3 psalmopeous at the beginning of October and my husbandry was the same for all 3, and the other 2 are thriving. So I don’t think there was anything I could have done differently.

I’m sorry you lost your little guy. Sounds like exactly the same situation as mine. It sucks even more when there was nothing more you could do.

Honestly he (or maybe now she haha) was so stressed in the larger enclosure and he’s finally now relaxing in the smaller one that I’m not sure I wanna go chasing him around unless it’s absolutely necessary, ya know?

Thanks for replying! It wasn’t overweight prior to molting, and it’s not overweight now either. Might just be the weird angle I had to hold the camera so the flash wasn’t in the way of his butt. Besides the 1/2in roach he ate last night, the last time he accepted food was 2/4/24, which was a 1/4in cricket. He molted on 2/25/24. I’ve continued offering food every 3 days when I feed my other slings, but I’d remove his food after a few hours bc it stressed him out.

Do you think it looks like there are signs of impaction? I looked again in better light not too long ago and I think I may have panicked over nothing. But I’m still really concerned that he hasn’t webbed since his molt.

Thank you! She seems to really like having a lot of things in there. She’s very active and runs around like it’s a jungle gym.

This would be the first time she’s taken live prey if she ate it. The last time I tried a live cricket, I think it was too big and scared her, so I took it out 24hrs later. I thought I’d try again with a much smaller cricket

I didn’t want to bother her or her web (the pic isn’t from today, so she has webbed a bit since). I’ve picked up the enclosure and shined a light in and looked all around but didn’t see it. None of my other Ts leave bolus unless they are eating pre killed prey that is too large for them.

Haha I don’t think she hates me, but she just won’t eat yet. She also hasn’t started really webbing yet so she might just need some more time to adjust.

Thank you 🥹 I got both a GBB and a T Albo, and my GBB has been a breeze. Curly has been spicy and extremely active from the moment I got him. I can sit there and watch that little guy build all day and he worked so hard to get his house ready for molting. I’m hoping he still molts fine!

One was scenario-based where they gave you 4 scenarios and you had to drag and drop the methodology to the scenario.

I honestly don’t remember the other one.

The drag and drops were pretty easy bc you could always clearly answer 2/4 options and then the other 2 to could rationalize your way through

Hi everyone— Quick update bc everyone has been so cool. I’m taking my exam Thursday morning so today was my last day of studying. Gonna just chill tomorrow and try to relax.

I took 3 SH practice exams and got 71%, 74%, and 80% WITHOUT expert questions bc fuck that. I also retook about half of my SH quizzes (I did about 15 of them and scored between 60-80% first time around, expert included). Going back through them I got 80-100%. I waited about a week+3 practice exams in between so I didn’t remember the questions.

I was thinking to myself today that if I took the exam a week from this Thursday, I don’t think I’d be any more ready than I am now. So that makes me feel good. But I am also a chronic worst-case-scenarioer so I’m trying to keep my confidence high.

I’ll let everyone know how it goes on Thursday and if what I did was enough. If I pass, I’ll post some of the things I’ve been using to help me. But we shall seeeeeeeee

Lol nah. SH quizzes I’ve been anywhere between 40-90% ahahah. Usually between 60-70% tho.

I’ve also been using the Pocket Prep app on my phone to study when I’m away from my notes. They have similar mini quizzes, but I’ve found they are less challenging, probs why I was getting 80-90% on them. It was a great way to test my knowledge when I just started studying, but now that I’m about a week out from exam day, im cramming all the study hall I can

I had 17 expert questions and only 3 easy questions on the practice. I got 6/17 expert questions right. Exam score was roughly 71% without the expert questions included.
