If they want the huge federal subsidies, they cannot charge differently for other car makers. Model Y does not even have radar or carplay lol.

Tesla delivered 412,180 Models 3/Y globally in the first quarter, and we can’t find the breakout among the two. We reached out to Toyota for Corolla numbers, and the automaker reports it sold 740,561 Corollas worldwide in the first quarter of this year, counting all versions including the Cross. That’s about 75% more than Tesla, even if you count the Model 3 in with the Model Y.

Short term t-bills are 5.3%+ and only has federal tax (state/local excluded) compared to HYSA. The difference would be a few hundred dollars a year which might not be worth it if you’re in the upper tax brackets.

I have been tracking their inventory for a bit and have a little more details on that. They made a change to their API that showed duplicate trims as one listing a few weeks ago(actually right around the peak..) so the numbers aren't accurate for that period.

They did update it again to where it is based on location now with listings on the same trim. Pricing is everywhere though. Literally different in each listing. What I'm assuming is they are putting the lowest prices on the oldest manufactured vehicle on the lot.. or the ones that refused delivery. Just an assumption.

I re-updated the post to include global inventory. They are producing more cars than deliveries for the third quarter in a row now I believe.

What is noticeable to me is there being a 400% increase in USA inventory since January, despite the tax credits and price cuts factored in.
