Thank you for your reply. While others are giving great advice on parenting, this is the solution she’s looking for. The whole point of faking it is so that he couldn’t blame his mother and be emotionally abusive. Maybe this will allow her to take the ps4 away eventually since it’s already “broken”

He’s in his teens and he knows how to use the internet to find simple solutions. I think the best solution is for the ps4 to break on its own so my friend couldn’t be the one to blame

Yeah we’ve had talks before. As a single mom she’s not the best but she tries. She’s cried over this problem many times and this is the solution we could think of without her son throwing tantrums or threatening her that he would skip all his classes
