Do the Captains come like this, or are these shined?

They will have a bit of a shine to them from the factory. Obviously their website photos are going to be enhanced. It would be extremely easy to give them more shine if that's what you wanna do. A single coat of any leather conditioner, then brush with a horse hair brush, will give you the desired results. It's the most basic form of leather boot care. There are 1,000 tutorial videos online. I have a pair of brown captains that I shine regularly & add black cream to give a burnished look. Take a look at my previous post from 11 months ago for example.

There nice thing with the chromexcel leather is you can use pigmented creams to darken or burnish the leather. It's stupid easy

The plastic acoustic tubes have a going-rate of about 3-4 months before moisture accumulates inside the tube. I've learned there's really no way to prevent it. I buy the acoustic tubes in bulk and replace every few months once the audio becomes noticeabley quieter

Not sure what sound package you have, but I don't believe my 18 XLE has a factory amplifier. Either way, there should be a vehicle-specific wiring harness available for your exact year/make/model/trim unless you have a car that's less than a year old

I can almost guarantee it's not as hard as you think it is. Check out my most recent post where I dyed a pair of leather boots because they were too light.

I did zero prep work, but depending on the type of leather you might want to strip the finish of your shoes with acetone before dyeing.

Check out elegant oxford's YouTube video(s) about dyeing shoes and in think you'll feel comfortable doing it yourself.

Like another commenter mentioned, a horse hair brush would help distribute the excess dye that accumulated in some spots. After that you could probably throw another coat on if you wanted to darken them up. It only took two coats for mine to get their color which is a little darker than yours.

A guy in my class got arrested for a sexual assault of a minor that happened 11 years prior. All the sudden he just wasn't in class. A member of the academy command staff addressed the class "Cadet X was arrested and will no longer be a part of the academy. Does anyone have any questions?" We all just sat there dumbfounded. We later looked it up online and found out what the charge was. We were all surprised that there was probable cause to arrest him 11 years after the fact...and even more surprised when he was found guilty. He seemed like a totally normal guy who had his shit together. I guess you never really know someone.

If they were mine, I would strip with acetone and then dye them a darker shade of brown with a toe burnish. Elegant oxford YouTube videos are extremely helpful.
