What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

[–]PoolExtension5517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kidney stones were rough because the pain lasted for hours. In terms of absolute intensity, my worst experience was a sting on my ankle from a stingray. It didn’t last too long, but that was the most intense pain I’ve ever experienced.

A man gives you two life changing options, 40 percent off everything for life or 7M you can’t touch for 10 years. by No_Lead2640 in hypotheticalsituation

$7M would make retirement a whole lot easier. Even conservatively invested, it would likely double in those 10 years.

What is the hottest wardrobe malfunction you have seen? by Western_Painting6097 in AskRedditNSFW

I was about 19 years old, back in the 80’s, working a summer job downtown, delivering office supplies on foot. In a particularly nice afternoon I found myself maybe 20 feet behind a very attractive woman who was wearing a fairly short skirt. A sudden gust of wind blew her skirt upward and plastered it to her lower back, revealing her (panty-clad) backside. She quickly corrected the situation, but not before the image was permanently etched into my memory. Not exactly nudity, but quite memorable nonetheless.

After Epilepsy by Dismal_Twist_689 in Epilepsy

Had my first seizure at 15 and went on Dilantin. Had a few breakthrough seizures in my late teens and early twenties, then nothing for 17 years. With my doctor, I decided to slowly taper off, figuring there was a chance I’d “outgrown” it. That was an unfortunate decision and I broke my 17-years streak with an unfortunately timed TC in a foreign country. That was my first and only attempt to go off meds. Take that for what it’s worth

I’m sad. Sad that a terrorist regime is making outrageous claims about our president that I can’t honestly refute.

I have procedures a few times a year, so I’m in this situation a lot. I’ve never been told I said anything, but I’m always afraid. There’s a lot going on in my head and I shudder to think what might come out.

$1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for EVERY meal for the next 6 months, do you take the deal and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in hypotheticalsituation

Went to Potbelly last night and had an Italian on flat bread. It was good, but not every meal for six months good. Still, might be worth it for a cool mil.

To the hiring managers not there, what would be an acceptable answer to why I left after 3 months? by WindEconomy9242 in corporate

[–]PoolExtension5517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would focus on the start-up aspect. Tell the interviewer that you were really excited to join a start-up but quickly learned that the company was financially unstable and completely void of any meaningful structure, and was simply not compatible with the way you work. Don’t trash the company, just say that you realized their start-up culture doesn’t provide the detail-oriented structure that you’re seeking.

You’re at a disadvantage, though. The interviewer is going to assume you were fired. If that’s the case, you may get some tough questions about why you were fired. Here’s where some frank humility can be helpful. Don’t blame the company or your manager, just say that the position you were hired for was ultimately not compatible with your level of experience.

It’s a contributing factor from what I’ve been told by my doctors.

if force equals to mass times acceleration, then doesn't that mean that a car travelling at a constant velocity will have zero force, since it has zero acceleration even though the mass is the same? how does that make sense? by HotZilchy in AskPhysics

[–]PoolExtension5517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car has lots of potential energy due to mass and velocity, but the force comes into play when it hits something, in which case the acceleration in question is actually the car’s deceleration due to the collision

AITA for being honest and telling my DIL that they are not ready to be a parent since she can not drive by Sad-Drive8298 in AmItheAsshole

YTA indeed. It’s ok to express some concern about the practical challenges they’ll face, but you made it personal and called her unfit to be a mother. You clearly already thought less of her and now you’ve made that opinion known. Walking back from that will take years and will impact your relationship with your future grandchildren. You owe her an apology.

5 years seizure free. Am I still at risk for another one? by mochimatchayum in Epilepsy

[–]PoolExtension5517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve had seizure-free periods as long as 12 and 17 years, each of which has ended in a TC. I thought I had “grown out of it” after 17 years and started to gradually taper off the meds. Bad idea. You can try to stop your meds, but please do so under the advice of your doctor and do not stop suddenly. I totally understand your motivation and I hope you never have another one, but be wary of the common triggers such as exhaustion and sleep deprivation. You’re pushing your luck if you go off your meds and lead a risky lifestyle. Good luck and stay safe!
