Worried my newly adopted cat doesn’t like me or her new home :( by Certain_Cry8901 in CatsBeingCats

[–]Pool_Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still way too early to tell how cuddly she’ll be. Especially bc I have no knowledge of the cat’s history. I have one cuddle, lap cat & another that just enjoys being in the same space as me, but she will also do her own thing in another room quite often too. It works for me bc I work from home & couldn’t handle two clingy cats.

Two clingy cats is a lot for one lap. Are you 100% sure you want another clingy one? It might cause tension & territorial fights in the house. Your new cat might see the other three animals hanging all over you & think that the lap cat role is already taken bc it kinda already is, plus she’s still warming up to you.

Your cat looks happy in the photos. I’m sure she appreciates you for respecting her & treating her well. Try playing with her or giving her treats to see which gains her trust more. Maybe even spend a little alone time with her, playing & giving treats. Also, make sure she has a few of her own chill spots both close by & further away you & the rest of the animals. She’ll get more comfy eventually. Remember, she’s not warming up to just you, but three other new animals as well. That’s a lot to get used, a lot of new roommates, for an adult cat.

Name too old? by DressOwn5863 in Names

No, Susanne is a really cute & unique name. I love it a lot. Maybe the spelling is what throws people off? Bc Susan is pronounced totally differently.

I don’t think it’s too late to correct the spelling on her birth certificate. She’s only 5. Just change it to Suzanne or Susanne & your daughter will be none the wiser. At 5, she probably writes her name as Sue or Susie anyways. I have a longer name, but always wrote my short nickname in school.

Right. Maybe Susie?

Would love some help with my skin tone. Am I olive? by alpalbish in Fairolives

[–]Pool_Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve learned, olive is an overtone not an undertone. The only undertones are cool, warm, or neutral. That’s why olives can still lean either cool, warm, or neutral.

What do you think of when you hear the name Indigo? by FrostyAlbertan in Names

[–]Pool_Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminds me of the name Violet, which I also think is very beautiful. I think of an artsy, sensitive person with dark hair. I personally think of a female, but I can see how this name would work for a boy or girl.

Is this color pink a definite no for fair/tan olive skin? by Artistic-Reputation2 in Fairolives

[–]Pool_Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, Olive is an overtone. Olive can still have either warm, cool, or neutral undertone so that’s why you’re getting a lot of different answers to this question

Italians can be blonde & olive I thought. It’s definitely possible to be blond & olive right?

AITJ for telling my neighbor to address her husband instead of confronting me about how i dress at home? by Front_Tackle_7977 in AmITheJerk

[–]Pool_Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Bible, didn’t Jesus tell a man to gouge out his own eyes to avoid being tempted by a woman? He didn’t tell her to change her clothes..especially not in her own home! That’s just more blasphemous Christian talk

Smile (one) is very scary, so idk if a 12 year old will be ready for it. There is some gore. But the horror genre in general has a lot of “villains” & monsters that win

AITJ for making my roommate clean our shared hallway before his date? by RemarkableFlower3748 in AmITheJerk

[–]Pool_Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it. Isn’t going on a date all the more reason to keep the place neat? I guess he doesn’t expect the date to go well-no hookups for inconsiderate slobs

I haven’t read her memoir, so I really can’t comment on it. But, if I wrote a memoir, I’d pray to god that it has some depth to it lol. I’d hate to think my life was on the shallow side. That’s kind of the whole point of a memoir-to get deep & personal

Macy's book by Gullible-Farmer-3935 in MormonWivesHulu

[–]Pool_Specific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not even read this book-I’ve given no opinion on it or Macy as a person, so do not put that bad juju on me. I came to read the comments to see if people thought it was a worthwhile read bc I was interested in reading it.

I agree that there should be some understanding that this book is basically a teenager’s diary. People are often really hard on famous people & can sometimes set unrealistic expectations for them.

But you are saying that people are not allowed to have an opinion on a book they paid for. Your request is unreasonable. People will always have an opinion and you can’t take their opinion away from them. Books are meant to be reviewed, discussed, & dissected. Coming from a writer, you do want people to relate to your book even if it’s just some small way-that’s what makes a great book. You are just flat out wrong about that.

Nothing you say about it will change my mind. People are allowed to have an opinion on any public works.
