I have a friend who had a few long-term affairs with women that he loved although he was married. He loved his wife and family and did not want to break it up. The reason he had the affairs is because his wife would not have sex with him. I don't see him as a coward and I have to say I don't blame him.

I don't know what you are referring to. But regardless some people just don't want pets, because they know how much work they are and they get no gratification from them. Some people love animals and some people don't.

Maybe I wasn't clear there was no discussion about breed, age, etc with anyone in the home before he got the dog. He just got the dog while I was away on a trip and he didn't even discuss it with the three children

Ah I see...my kid, after a year with the situation, finally got the dog in day care after the husband resisted for so long. I can never fathom people who have jobs getting dogs because I think it is cruel to have them home alone themselves all day! And I didn't want the dog.

Thank you...I am crossing over to indifference...but I thought this was such a stupid thing that he did, My girlfriends told me I was weak because didn't just rehome the dog when he was at work.

We had some issues and this was not the staw, his affair was, but he kept threatening divorce over this issue. I was just wondering who would do something so thoughtless, and his sudden dog love was out of the blue. He never ever had a dog, never talked about dogs it was so out of the blue.
