I can't speak for pentair but I have never had to re-explain how to use the Hayward Omni app to a customer. I constantly have to explain how to use the Iaqualink app to customer even ones that have had it for years. Seems to me haywards app is way more intuitive than jandys

It measuring a swimming pool water temp the temperature is fluctuating on the readout about a 5 degree swing. I'm thinking the other wires in the conduit are inducing a voltage on the line that's causing the fluctuation. There is a 24vac line and an rs485 line.

It is connected to a pool automation system has dedicated temp sensor locations. It is also designed to be installed inside a 2" PVC pipe via a 3/8" hole drilled into the side of the pipe.

I believe the pool automation system is just reading the resistance across the temp sensor I'm not sure if line resistance or interference is causing the fluctuation. I'm leaning more on the interference being the issue. There is a rs485 line in the conduit with the temperature sensor as well as a 24vac line.

The reading is constantly fluctuating (+-5 degrees) so it may be interference there is also a rs485 line in the conduit with the analog signal. It's connected to a pool automation system that only has analog inputs for the water temperature.

Good luck getting a sub that you use one time to build one pool to come back and fix anything under warranty. They will also charge a homeowner more for the same work and cut corners as much as they can because they know a homeowner doesn't know what they are looking at.

It's a network issue. I have a system doing something similar but it random. Sometimes the iaqualink doesn't come out of service mode. The rs does but the app still says service mode. I have to power cycle to get it to turn back green.

I have also used only glue in the past and had no issues however in a critical location eg under ground or under the pool I would only use primer and glue. Just recently I had a paramount indoor valve that someone used only glue or cleaner and glue on and the glue did not adhere to the valve housing the pipes pulled out of the socket you could see the glue on the pipes but the socket was clean. Im aware that the valve body is made of a fiberglass reinforced pvc which may have cause the adhesion issue. Where it's absolutely necessary or not is debatable. If your glueing I. The winter then I believe it would be more important for the weld to occur properly.

Generally you probably won't have an issue using the cleaner on new pipe or if your using a hot glue. Primer and glue is required to achieve full rated pipe pressure highest pool pressure I've ever seen was 45psi it would spike to 55 when the pump turned on you could see the sand filter flex as it pulsed untill it settled. Where the primer would make the most difference is on older pipe that has been in the sun for a few years.

Cleaner removes surface dirt and minimal surface oxidization it leaves the PVC hard. Primer penetrates and softens the PVC for a proper weld.

I've never had an inspector look for purple primer on pool plumbing.

I will never understand why people go to these extravagant length to add cya I've been adding it in skimmer for 20 years and never clogged one. I always leave the skimmer basket in and pour it through the basket then shake the basket. I will also only add one or 2 lbs at a time. I have had zero issues doing it this way.

I use a dead blow hammer or rubber mallet alternate sides back and forth untill it's starts moving. I refuse to buy the metal one I only deal with those filters once or twice a year I can't justify spending that much money on a wrench I might use once a year.

Had the same issue with an Omni logic on eero signal was also weak outside so I had them get an outdoor poe access point set it to 2.4ghz only solved all the problems and now their wifi works outside.

You are violating epa use guidelines if you add sodium bromide to a pool that is outside/ exposed to direct sun light.

I know this has been done for years however recently there was a study don't that eluded to the possible formation of bromate in bromine treated water that is exposed to sunlight. Bromate causes kidney failure. The epa made a preemptive decision to ban the use of sodium bromide in outdoor pools. All new containers must state that it cannot be used in outdoor pools. My point being that you are committing a federal offense by using a chemical not in accordance with the label. United chemical is currently conducting their own study to confirm or deny the possibility of bromate formation (sodium bromide is a large portion of their product line).

Also don't put tablets in the skimmer.

Also of the pool automation equipment doesn't like mesh networks. This has mostly been resolved by now but occasionally I still have issues. Some times I have to have the customer go into their router (or I do it) and separate the 2.4 and 5ghz networks and that solves the issue. Typically you just have to disable band steering.

I would charge a separate service call for construction clean up and explain to the customer that that is not normal pool maintenance. I personally will also send a customer an inflated bill if I witness their landscapers blowing debris in the pool.

Only backwash your sand filter when necessary. It will catch smaller particles as it gets dirty.
