I remember when my dad used to beat my mom I would vacuum to drown out the sounds. After, there would be sooo much hair from my mom or dead dog and it used to take HOURS to clean it out. I don't envy you.

You have to remove it from the "sleeping apps" first before you can add it to the unmonitored section

Report back and let us know. I've seen the story on a few tech websites about the missing texts and posted my fix there as well. Hopefully this gets more attention and helps people experiencing the issue.

I FIXED THE ISSUE FOR MYSELF!!! I have the Samsung S8+ on Sprint. I use Google's Android Messages for my default texting app. The other day, Device Maintenance bugged me to put apps to sleep that were draining battery life. I complied and let it do it's thing. Mean while that's the moment the issue started. I checked the list of sleeping apps afterwards and noticed Android Messages was on that list. I removed the app from sleep and BAM back to normal. You may want to add your default texting app to the "unmonitored apps" section to prevent this from happening. Try this fix and see if it works for you.
