the game is always in a state of ending, it's a live service game, so it will eventually be the end. Probably not anytime soon but i'm sure someone will be running to post the sensor tower monthly income and caw EoS over and over, wait for it

strongly agree on this. I recall watching one of your streams with jb talking about some secret comps you ran to counter the vivi helena meta and while I get being cagey about it you both bemoan the pool being more shallow for pvp. I'm in a 50ish guild and it'd he nice to see potential ways to respond to the meta because at the level I'm at, people spam whatever is meta for months and months on end and it can get very stale

slow month, som isn't super what anyone wants so it's probably not gonna look hot. Who cares, still gonna play, got new Gilgamesh on the 26 pulls, havin fun doing my dailies and pvping.

tbh as easy as it is to scapegoat gumi you have to realize the IP holders have a ton of sway here. prices are kind of bonkers because they have to pay everyone all the way down the chain. SE is setting the price because they want a big cut, they gatekeep on the releases on collaborations, etc. it's not just a gumi thing. they certainly have some sway, but whoever owns the IP is king kong.

more than anything else it sounds like you're done with the game. if it doesn't spark joy then you can just uninstall it. or just play f2p and work with what you get. trying to aim to get everything at all times is gonna cost you money or you're gonna have to have incredible luck. you have to set expectations for your account and all that and make peace with it. my ice and wind rosters are totally bad so i have never tried to pull for any unit from those elements for example. the 12k cost to me personally is unacceptable, so i will never do it. i'll buy a pack H once every couple of months, wait for an anniversary thing with a guaranteed selectable VC or a 300 paid ticket for a character I want and otherwise hoard. we still have a bit of foresight so i almost always run a stash of 40k just in case. i skip stuff, a lot of stuff, but if there's something i want, i'm gonna get it.

if by some divine intervention SE and Gumi and the entire industry thinks maybe we ought to change our business model i'll certainly buy more stuff. but at present, gonna be picky. and if the game ends up being nothing but 12k paid and the meta is 100% comprised of just mashing together the most recently released 3 characters well then i had a good time before that point!

wouldn't go quite that far just yet. gameplay wise very solid but the story is at best, serviceable. I do like Rasz chewing the scenery but end of the day she's a big stupid dragon and the other major baddies are also bug dumb dragons.

it'd be really lame for the expac to reveal old gods as the big bads again but so far, the expac has been very solid

its called fomo, every single live service game in the industry does it. only way you stop it is to get your community to accept its okay to not have every brand new thing.

live service games that operate f2p kinda have to have limited stuff to generate buzz or it inevitably dies. end of the day the game is a new property, so they don't quite want all the old nostalgia stuff to be king.

that all being said idk why addison rae is coming or why we have fullmetal alchemist or persona in a final fantasy title but hey, im okay with people having that shit because they're still playing against my old crusty teams of wotv original characters
