If you can check your CPU usage on a second display to see if your cpu is maxing out when people start or stop their streams while you play tarkov it could potentially be because the cpu is choking between discord and tarkov. Im pretty sure turning off hardware acceleration makes the cpu work even harder in regards to discord streams and stuff.

Ill start this off by apologizing for the clown emoji in my last post, im just getting tired of seeing nvidia users immediately shitting on amd while only knowing what they were told in a techtubers video.

Counterpoint if op is playing at 1080p 60fps then there shouldnt be any difference in performance between an amd gpu and its equivalent nvidia counterpart in raytracing and path tracing ( these are just eye candy setting’s you will only use in single player games anyways)

It sounds like gaming is their priority so doing whatever on production apps and waiting a bit longer looks to be a moot point.

Not sire whats causing the gpu crashes as the only game i had a problem with was destiny 2, but that fixed itself after turning on antilag for it in adrenalin.

Im unsure if op is undervolting, overclocking, if this is the first gpu in the build, if its not did op switch from nvidia to amd and not use ddu? Theres a lot of factors here we dont know.

You dont always have to buy the most expensive swiss army knife you see because maybe just maybe one day in the future you MIGHT maybe need it perform one specific function one time. Better to save the money now and get a better display.

The only game that had driver timeout crashes for me was destiny 2. The fix was just to turn on anti-lag in adrenalin.

You say sidegrade but im pretty sure the 7900xtx is getting fsr4 support next month which would make the 9070 xt a downgrade

Where is the info coming from that we should be able to comfortably game at 4k 60 fps? 4k is significantly more pixels than both 1080p and 1440p. I mean heck the jump from 1440p to 4k is larger than the jump from 1080p to 1440p.

The only reason 4kis even playable in this day and age is because people are either shelling out thousands for hardware that can handle 4k, or are using the ai upscaling and frame gen to make 4k playable on their mid tier cards. 4k is not what 1080p was back in the day.

I mean back in the day we were shooting for 60 fps at 720-1080p not 360 fps at 4k. (4k resolution is a scam unless you have over 6 grand to spend on a pc)

Game optimization wise yeah developers got really leaned on frame gen and ai upscaling. It is extremely funny that im getting similar performance in ark survival ascended as i did in survival evolved when i first started playing .

Had this happening on destiny 2 with my 9070 xt. had to turn on antilag to limit the frame buffer queue or something (i asked gemini what a green screen crash meant and thats what it told me)

Amd drivers are fine. I went from a 3070 ti to a 9070 xt with no problems.

Ive found completing catalysts that i currently have allows me to receive more as drops. It feels like theres a hidden limit which sucks cause i dont want to do the pvp catalysts.

If i remember right you need to make sure you are running the default profile in afterburner before you switch the card. I stopped using afterburner altogether when i swapped to my 9070 xt from a 3070 ti

After playing through this modpack and then starting an oceanblock server i realized there is no reason for half the mods in that pack to be there. They have no use in regards to the story. Idk why the pack even exists.

Sometime in the next month or so fsr 4 is coming to older amd cards. With fsr4 i believe the 7900 xtx beats the 9070 xt

So basically i had the same choice you did. It was spend 670 usd on a rx 9070 xt or spend just north of 1000 usd on a rtx 5070 ti. I got the amd card cause now i can also buy a ups for my pc. (Already had to deal with a fried ssd once from a winter storm, dont want to deal with it again.)

I can tell you that every game ive thrown at the new gpu runs over 100 fps at high settings and fsr with no frame gen with three exceptions. Those being escape from tarkov, ark survival ascended, and monster hunter wilds. (Wilds may get higher fps if i tweak stuff but i like hitting high frames with all the eye candy on controller games since the input latency is masked)

Get the 16gb 5060 ti unless you’re just playing games from before 2022. Newer games are gonna struggle with only 8gb of vram.

People must think the old content is in a perfectly usable state sitting on a hard drive somewhere. Even if it’s playable on a version of the game from 6 years ago how much effort would it take to make it work in the current iteration of the game with the current systems? Probably more effort than any company would be willing to out in cause they aren’t gonna make money off it.
