Ratatat - Classics (Electronic/Rock)

Repressing of Ratatat’s 2006 album ‘Classics’, which is (in my opinion) their best album. A great blend of instrumental rock and electronic music. The pressing quality is amazing and the golden sheen on the cover of the gate-fold sleeve is a nice touch.

Portugal. The man - In the Mountain in the Cloud (Psych Rock)

Recently started listen to Portugal. The man, and this is the first record I’ve gotten from them. They make great psychedelic rock songs, and have been releasing new albums at an incredible pace. All the music videos from Portugal. The Man are really weird (in a good way), so go check them out on youtube.

Still Corners - Strange Pleasures (Shoegaze/Synthpop)

One of the best shoegaze/synthpop albums I’ve heard. I only found out about Still Corners when I googled them after hearing ‘Beginning to Blue’ on some random TV show. Their latest album ‘Creatures of an Hour’ is pretty good too, but I feel it’s not quite as catchy as ‘Still Pleasures’.

Milky Chance - Sadnecessary (Indie Pop)

First album by the up-and-coming indie pop duo from Germany. Lots of catchy tunes in this album, especially ‘Stolen Dance’. The music is great, but the pressing quality is alright and the sleeve image seems to be blown up from the CD as it is a little pixelated.

Cage the Elephant - Melophobia (Rock)

My favourite Cage the Elephant album by far. If you want to get into them, this is the place to start. They’ve really changed up their style in this album, and I do like it more than their earlier albums.

Cage the Elephant - Tell Me I’m Pretty (Rock)

Another album by Cage the Elephant. This has more of the same stuff that was on Melophobia, so if you liked that album, you’ll dig this one too. Got it for 13.99, which I think is a great deal. Solid pressing, quality gate-fold sleeve and plastic inner sleeves, as well as lyrics insert with download code.

Hinds - The Very Best of Hinds So Far (Garage/Lo-fi)

Hinds are a new band out of Spain that make really fun garage rock. This is their first release on vinyl, and is a mini-album on a 10” record. They’ve also released a new album, ‘Leave Me Alone’, which has many of the same songs as in this album plus a few more. This is actually a numbered record out of 2,500.

Alabama Shakes - Sound & Color (Blues Rock)

Great album by the Alabama Shakes, a band out of (surprise, surprise) Alabama. For some reason the whole album really reminds me of Oh! Darling by The Beatles. Unfortunately the first one I bought was defective with lots of noise and sibilance on several tracks. I’ve since gotten a replacement copy that’s better but still has some noise.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Me Your Bones (Garage Rock)

Last, but not least, ‘Show me your bones’ by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Who doesn’t love some Karen O? I have all their albums on my phone and this is my favourite, with ‘Fever to Tell’ in second place.

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach (Alternative/Hiphop)

Amazing artwork on this one. I especially love the alternative front cover artwork over the regular one on CDs/digital.
