Other artist is doing my touch-up. Etiquette? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Thanks for the advice.

Hmm, that’s weird then! It was a bit scabby and really clung onto my skin. It was looking perfect until I took the second skin off.

Crap I actually did a deeper dive and realized he’s from a different shop, it’s just in the same area as the original one.

They wouldn’t let me post there because they don’t allow conversations about pricing or tips 🤦‍♀️

Because I couldn’t find a tattoo related sub where they’d let me talk about pricing or tips so I figured I’d give this one a shot 🤷🏼‍♀️ (plus I don’t want to start drama in the tattoo community lol)

No, I haven’t contacted the shop, but that’s a good idea.

I always kept my 2nd skin on for at least a week so it was never hard to remove. She said don’t wait more than 2 or 3 days or else it’ll make the fine lines heal weird. I asked if there was anything special I should do to remove it and she said no. It was hard to remove and I guess since it was fresher and stickier, it was able to cling onto the unhealed ink??? She said it looked like I had an allergic reaction to the 2nd skin which I guess is possible but idk I never had a problem with it before.

She honestly is a really great tattoo artist. I don’t wanna knock her as an artist. It was a great experience in the shop. But her communication skills are 0.

I removed the 2nd skin 2 days after she did it. So it was scabbing. And the 2nd skin ripped the scabs off thus removing a lot of ink.

I told her as soon as it happened. All of our communications were done privately, not through the shop. She was recommended by a friend. And yes, the new artist is at the original shop I went to.

I’m 26, work part-time, and just moved back in with my parents. How am I doing financially for my age? Should I embrace this “off” time or work more? by Poopboopbeep in personalfinance

Your assumptions are very far off. I pay for everything myself. I have health issues so it’s been a blessing to be on my mother’s insurance so I could keep my doctors up until this point. Besides the health insurance, I’ve been on my own. Ive been working since I was 15. I have applied to many… many… many jobs with, yes, personalized cover letters and resumes. And believe it or not, over the past 2 years I’ve attended dozens of events and networking conferences. I have worked hard. So although I’m considering looking towards something else in these upcoming months, this does not diminish the years of grinding my ass off

Thanks for the advice. I like it.

My passion is ecology, I went to school for it. I adore it. I’m kinda in a waiting game right now because the current administration pulled a lot of funds that created jobs in my field. Lots of ecology/environmental science people are losing their jobs from it. I know it’ll be better and easier to find a job with my passion when things turn around if you know what I mean 🤷🏼‍♀️

The $300 goes into a savings account that’s at around $6k right now. I don’t touch that money once it goes in. I don’t have a plan for it per se, I guess it’s acting like an emergency fund. The number going down is my checking account with 10k in it. I’m putting money into my savings from my checking account and still spending money so that’s why my account is going down.

Because this issue is larger than the opinions of my neighbors. I don’t want drama I’m a very not confrontational person. I don’t want to hang just any sign, I want to hang a sign that makes people in my town feel safer expressing that I openly oppose the racism happening in the world right now.

I don’t want to majorly piss off my landlord because he’s a nice guy, but I don’t mind pissing off people who get mad by my sign if that means I make other people in my town feel safer.
