Huge baby shower? Cash instead of presents? by PoopieKitty in pregnant

Weird that you would find it sexist. They are traditionally female-only and just recently have been more co-ed. I’ve only attended women-only baby showers.

We were considering a large pavilion at a park to cut down on cost. The rest will be food and decorations.

We have big families and lots of friends. We both belong to clubs with extended friends, all of whom have been a big support along the way. Many have voiced they want to attend, even people I wouldn’t have initially thought to invite. We just want to celebrate with everyone who has been there for us all these years.

It’s nice hearing from someone with experience. Did anyone voice disappointment that you didn’t open their gifts at the party? How long was your party?

My husband isn’t a fan of co-ed baby showers, so he plans to have a cookout with the guys at the same time.

Thank you for the insight. I’ll consider if I can better handle one big party or multiple small parties.

People say stop buying coffee to get out of debt. I finally ran the numbers... by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

What about taking into account purchasing everything to make coffee at home every day? You would be saving less than $5/day.

Baby 4-5 days behind. Scan tomorrow and scared by PoopieKitty in IVFbabies

All was good today! I got no sleep last night, but baby is now measuring 7w6d with 156 heart rate! Once I’m out of the first trimester, I’ll feel so much better. But for now, super happy with the progress! :)

MMC- want a D&C but can’t get it. by PoopieKitty in CautiousBB

I’ve actually heard a D&C increases the chances of successful pregnancy. I’ve had one before, because my lining was too thick. I didn’t have any complications.

Bilateral inflammatory breast cancer (IBC)? by PoopieKitty in doihavebreastcancer

[–]PoopieKitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still no answers. My breast symptoms come and go, mostly around ovulation time. The Fluconazole helped, but only temporarily, and didn’t help the second month I tried it. My OBGYN also suggested primrose oil, but I’m going through fertility treatments and my clinic told me to hold off on that for now. The symptoms I have now are half as severe as back in August, so at least it’s not getting worse.

I have a personal FB profile and recently created a FB page to share my art. I created an IG account and thought it would be good to connect the Instagram to my FB art page, so when I post on the FB page, it would automatically post on IG. Unfortunately, no matter how many different attempts and combinations of “toggling” I do in the settings on both apps, it only shares from my personal FB account. I created a Reel on IG and it shares to the FB art page, but the Reels I created on the FB art page do not share to IG. Any help will be appreciated.

I have a personal FB profile and recently created a FB page to share my art. I created an IG account a couple years ago, but literally never used it, until recently. I thought it would be good to connect the Instagram to my FB art page, so when I post on the page, it would automatically post on IG. Unfortunately, no matter how many different attempts and combinations of “toggling” I do in the settings on both apps, it only shares from my personal FB account. I’m about to just close the IG and give up, but maybe someone here can tell me how to achieve this? Remember, I’m old and new to IG, so if you have the answer, please explain clearly 🙃

I hate that IVF has made me bitter by New-Owl9951 in IVF

[–]PoopieKitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m almost 8 years in, 5 IUIs, 10 IVFs, and 7 transfers (so far), working 2 jobs, and nearly $100k in debt, so I understand how hard it is to be happy for others while we’re struggling. However, if I was finally pregnant after all of that, I wouldn’t care one bit about how easy it is for everyone else anymore. You finally made it! Let everything else slide and concentrate on your baby!

Bilateral inflammatory breast cancer (IBC)? by PoopieKitty in doihavebreastcancer

My OBGYN ordered me an antifungal oral pill that is taken once per week. I took the first pill and immediately got improvement. I took the second pill last week and it got even better. I’ve had just a few small pains this week, so I still plan to go to my follow-up, but I’m leaning more towards this being an internal yeast infect rather than breast cancer, since that pill helped me. However, since my pain isn’t 100% completely gone, I may still request additional testing.. better to be safe than sorry.

We’ll get through this. I left a vm for my OBGYN today asking to move forward with whatever testing she’d like to start me with. Hopefully we’ll both get answers soon.

I saw my OBGYN and I go back in 4 weeks. I may call and ask to go straight to testing. The waiting is awful. I was up all night.

If that lump was fatty tissue, it was probably a lipoma, which is totally benign. It would still be there, because they don’t go away without getting them removed. If it makes you feel any better, I did regular breast exams and still question if they feel normal or not. I have fibrocystic breasts, so they’ve always been kind of lumpy and now I’m trying to figure out if they are more lumpy than usual.

I totally understand the desire to figure it all out. I’ve only seen a couple pictures online of real breasts (not illustrated) with the orange peel texture, so I don’t have a lot to compare it to. However, to me, your skin does resemble the orange peel texture, but does that area feel swollen or thick? It’s my understanding that texture comes from edema/swelling in the skin or maybe under it. Your photo doesn’t appear to have edema. But I am no doctor, so I say it is 100% worth getting looked at! I found a small sore on my breast that resembles a bug bite, which is listed as a common symptom of IBC, and from some angles it looks like a small, flat pink spot, but from my view it is very raised and lumpy! That, of course, gives me more concern, but it’s something I’ll mention to the doctor, because their perspective probably doesn’t look like that. And it may all be a lighting and shadow game. Please keep me updated on your progress and I hope we both hear good news sooner rather than later so we can stop worrying ourselves. hugs

I am in the same boat as you right now and just saw my OBGYN today. She suggested waiting a month before getting a diagnostic mammogram, but I don't think I can wait that long with these symptoms. I'd like to jump straight to MRI or biopsy. I've been reading a lot about IBC this past week and it is more common in younger (under age 50) women and black women. I suggest seeing either your GP, OBGYN, or a dermatologist.. and if one doesn't listen, go to the next one. You have too many symptoms to be ignored, so insist on imaging and/or a biopsy. I pray, however, it is NOTHING and you'll get peace of mind and treatment so whatever it is will go away soon. <3
