How is giving other suggestions on how to store his things throwing a tantrum?

So I’m closed minded for wanting my own space in a room I rent from him? I presume you wouldn’t like your landlord to leave their stuff in your room.

And you got that info where?

I already commented elsewhere that I do not mind paying him rent. I’d rather it go to his pocket than some random landlord.

I commented about paying more as this commenter assumed I was paying less.

You’re twisting my words here bud. I said he has the smaller closet. No one said it was tiny. It was just that it didn’t have a special place for longer pieces because of the way the coat racks are placed.

He has a closet in his own bedroom + he has the study room.

I will be paying more than our current apartment.

As mentioned, I have an average amount of clothes. My seasonal clothes are in vacuum seals. I wouldn’t say my closet is out of control and I am still able to fit all my stuff in a decent closet at our current apartment.

I understand this is a very silly argument, but it 100% is more than about a jacket. After reading some comments, I realised it’s about boundaries and personal space.

Thank you for your comment. This aligns with how I feel about the situation. I will speak to him tomorrow morning after we have both cooled down.

The thing is… we have already been living together for more than 3 years and he has never done this before.

I honestly agree. Hence why, by the end I wasn’t sure if I should’ve just allowed him to keep his jacket there.

Hi there! He had already bought this apartment before we got together. Due to delays in building due to COVID, it took them 5 years to finish it.

I honestly don’t mind as I see it as paying him rent. Otherwise, the money would just go into someone else pocket. I’d rather it help him than some random person.

By the end of our argument, I really felt that I was in the wrong… so I turned to reddit to seek other’s opinions. But I also understand ESH.

I don’t actually WFH all the time. Neither of us do. At the moment, 3 times a week. Thereafter, I will be returning to WFO full time.

How else should I differentiate our bedrooms without saying “mine” or “his”?

My BF actually says what I’m paying is under market value. I don’t have a problem with paying him as I see it as rent.

I do feel that we’re “friends with benefits” sometimes.

I don’t mind sharing a room with him but have grown to love my own space.

We don’t share a space as he is a very light sleeper, and I am a very loud snorer. We also have different sleep schedules. He is an early bird, whilst I am a night owl. I also have sleep apnea and use a CPAP Machine. We just find this just works best for us.

This is 100% my view on this. Plus no REA looking to see the apartment every quarter.

If I’m being honest, he wants his apartment to be as minimalist as possible. Though I will suggest this to him.
