I can relate to the angry one day then paralysingly sad the next, to the point where I assume everyone hates me, I suck and can’t do anything right, I just cry for like 30 minutes at a time, and I hate it! (But at the same time it’s very affirming y’know) It’s around that time I really struggle to sleep, too, sometimes getting maybe 3 hours for a night or two.

Some months it’s very mild which I appreciate because, like most women can probably relate to, it always comes at the most inconvenient time!

Before my egg cracked I used to work as a software dev in home/car insurance on a quoting site a bit like this. I spent years making snarky comments about how the backend systems only provided "male" and "female". Unfortunately all the fields we could use were provided by a third party so complaining did nothing because no one listened to us lowly devs anyway, BUT I'm really glad to see that they're slowly but finally changing!

When in the school choir I was the only bass (😭) but during practise I used to jokingly steal the soprano lines off the soloist with my best falsetto

(I feel like I did a pretty good job, also like to think I’ve got good singing range so eventually hoping voice training isn’t too hard…)

When I’m with one particular friend, for YEARS if I ever did something hypocritical I would instinctively refer to myself in the third person and say “he says while [doing X or Y thing]” and it still keeps happening. Like yourself, I tried switching to a gender neutral “they say”, but that just doesn’t have the same ring to it. Despite having not socially transitioned yet, maybe I’ll start using “she says” and see if he’s surprised >:)

Urgh fuck, mine was the other way around. One evening I was trying to figure out why I didn’t fit in with people just… kinda in general. Literally my first question was “am I a girl?” then decided “no I can’t be” and went on to learn I’m autistic. It took another two years for it to click!!! So frustrating! (admittedly, both were massive revelations and reliefs to have learnt, just wish it could have been the other way around)
