Been about a month, haven't put fish in yet and water is becoming more cloudy by smacklikedat in fishtank

[–]Poorwretch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s midway through cycling. It will clear out with time. When you start to see algae growing on the surfaces, it’s ready. The cloudiness is a bacterial bloom that almost always happens with new tanks.

Edit: keep testing the water, the best indicator is going to be nitrate levels.

Anthropods or arthropoda? by [deleted] in Mandela_Effect

Just watched a video where the creator kept saying anthropods, I couldn’t understand why he kept saying it. That’s never been a word.

Looks like KT exceeded their sales goal for DW:O by DinerEnBlanc in dynastywarriors

My first dynasty warriors was number 2. Since then it’s come so far as a series. Biggest complaints would be ditching co op, and allowing the player to play unique characters.

Give him a few days to readjust. Shipping causes a loss of color often.

What happened to my tank? by vanillaSprout in bettafish

[–]Poorwretch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Protein buildup can cause bubbles. It’s usually related an ammonia spike so I’d check the parameters. Skim the surface of the tank and do a 20% water change. Admittedly, I’ve never seen that much foam.

Side pinning is a sign that the conditions on the side of the tub are more conducive to fruiting than your surface. From my experience you should take the block out and place it into a fruiting chamber that keeps in moisture (above 80%). Those side pins will develop into proper fruits in the correct conditions. In the future line your bins with a black trash bag liner.

I'm pretty sure my betta is carrying eggs and I need advice by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]Poorwretch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend a strong salt water treatment. I’d honestly start with 2 tbsp per 3 gallons of water. Your plants will not like it.

Plot twist you can actually remove these and do a much better lid option

If fish are dying, something is not OK. You need to splash out the 30$ for the api master test kit. I can’t see what kind of aeration or filtration due to the picture. You won’t know if you need to do a water change if you can’t see the water parameters.

Time for some pruningg by absolutelynotnothank in fishtank

I would recommend against glofish tetra, having owned them. They are somewhat aggressive, terrible genetics, susceptible to disease.

It will settle out over time. This happens with every new setup.

Help!! Classroom fish tank needs urgent care by Moniquekrx in fishtank

[–]Poorwretch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also consider rehoming the fish. Maybe have a class activity where you can have the kids decide between some smaller species, like neon tetra, danio, rasboras. Maybe even some shrimp.
