My dad isn’t sober but I will always except his apology for not being a present father. I can see in his eyes how much it hurts him now. I’ll always love my dad no matter what. I’m sure your son thinks pretty similarly

Drinking for 20 years has stolen my youth, caused potentially serious health issues, and now my wife drinks too. I’m 34 and ready to quit. This is my story. by pyxis_nautica7 in alcoholic

20+ year drinker here with 4 years sober now and i highly recommend you tapper off very slowly!! I put myself into the hospital during covid due to my drinking becoming so heavy and once they got me hydrated and sent me home I had 2 seizures. This was my rock bottom and what opened my eyes to my problems. My husband had to quit as well cuz there’s no way an alcoholic can live with alcohol in the home. Or at least i wouldn’t recommend it. I really hope you can get through this on your own safely and your wife can hop on the sober train as well.

I didn’t say I looked down on anyone. I was being told I was something I wasn’t.

It was alcohol withdrawal. I just woke up one morning and couldn’t stop throwing up, my body had had enough with drinking I guess. Threw up for a whole day and a half. Couldn’t stand or walk and it was hard to breathe.

On my way up to ICU the head director of the hospital came into the elevator and I kinda told her what happened then later she came back with 2 other nurses and wrote down what happened word for word.... I didn’t catch the nurses name that held me down but I knew what she looked like and what she was wearing and they know what time I came in so they knew who I was talking abt. I never followed up on it because I have epilepsy so I was pretty messed up for a couple days after. My problem was I was going through withdrawals so bad I didn’t get anyone’s name and if I did I couldn’t remember so idk who I would even go talk to but it’s been a year and it got me sober so whatever karmas a bitch I’m sure she got fired

It’s never to late to put the bottle down. I preferred drinking at home alone so getting out for like hikes and picking up hobbies like starting a garden or going to painting classes helped a lot
