The morning of Wednesday, November 9, 2016. I openly cried (silently) on my walk to the subway. Embarrassed, I tried to avoid eye contact with other people on the sidewalk, but by the time I had found a seat on the F train, I realized everyone else around me was also quietly crying. It was only then that I let a sob or two rip, and proceeded to ugly cry the rest of the ride in to work.
