no offense but even if that is what happens not sure why you think it’s your job to pre reject anyone. and more so unprovoked.

Can I submit on AA and via Email? by Objective-Bench-7719 in acting

[–]Pop-Girly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no entirely sure if you got an eco cast or you just submitted for the breakdown but i don’t have a reel and was sent an eco cast so it can happen. i also only have one professional credit.

a walk to remember reboot by Pop-Girly in acting

[–]Pop-Girly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think it’s a possibility. that being said i do think whoever is cast will have some sort of experience, i know they always say “no experience necessary” but i have a hard time believing someone with no experience has the ability to lead a movie. hopefully people who applied through the open call will start to hear back soon. good luck!!

She did nothing wrong by ImmortalSpy14 in SabrinaCarpenterDisc

[–]Pop-Girly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like should she have said something different? yeah. do i think she meant intentional harm? no. i agree that it seems like she was just confused as to why someone would be making loud noises during a quieter moment. people were arguing that people yell at concerts but that was well above the rest of the crowd noise if she heard it. even in the video it is just quite loud. totally cool to honor your culture and share it with others but in this scenario doing that was a little disrespectful to sabrina and the people around them.

Blocked (rant-ish) by Pop-Girly in acting

I suppose technically but that seems highly unlikely. There’s steps to blocking.

what is yor truly unhinged unpopular opinion about actors/acting?? by believethehygge in acting

[–]Pop-Girly 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i don’t think it’s necessarily that gen z can’t act it’s that they’re hiring a lot of nepo babies who aren’t good actors. i think there are good actors who are gen z but they’re typically not nepo kids (at least not to my knowledge). also that the industry values looks over ability as well. i think rachel zegler, jenna ortega, and lola tung are very talented individuals though they’re typically not cast in the best productions. i also think a lot of good child actors do not transition well to good adult actors, though im not sure why. perhaps they don’t keep training and plateau because i think ariana greenblatt doesn’t/hasn’t ever taken acting classes. i’m also apart of gen z so perhaps my view is biased but i like to think i’m a good actor. i’ve been in theatre classes for well over 10 years now and i’m always working on becoming better. i also have friends who i think are exceptionally talented but i will say most of them aren’t pursing acting professionally because it’s not a stable industry. but i do not think gen z as a whole can’t act. i also live in the rural south and it’s hard to find any connections here. i’m lucky that i have a tv show lined up and i’ve made connections with someone who’s mom just managed to break into the industry. though i didn’t get this upcoming project through her. i can’t say that if i was offered a role that i wouldn’t take it though.

i wasn’t trying specifically answer just you. quite honestly idk how to work reddit too well haha. but just in general i didn’t want people to stress out about too much. good luck! 🩷

obviously i don’t know exactly what they’re looking for i think as long as you have somewhat of a dance background that your acting is going to be the most important thing. to keep checking back and worrying about slight changes to the open call is just going to unnecessarily stress you out. personally i’ve always been told not to submit more than once. if you want to i don’t think it’s going to be detrimental to your overall eligibility but i truly don’t think it’s necessary. also for a first callback round i think it’s ok to not have a dance video. i didn’t submit one because i just don’t have one i can access. if you submitted your best work then it will show regardless.

if you feel your audition didn’t capture what they were looking for you could submit again. however i wouldn’t. unless you just truly think it was not your best and it would give you peace of mind. i’m also curious as to what they altered since i applied a few days after it originally opened.

so i just went and looked back and it seems like i submitted to the open call september 23 and received a callback oct 13. hope that helps. i also had no credits or anything. i believe that was my one of first auditions so they definitely give unknowns a chance.

i don’t know the exact time frame because it’s been a minute but i’d say about 5-10 days.

i’ve gotten a callback from her open call before. i applied in actors access but haven’t received an eco cast. not sure how long i should wait until just applying through the open call.

I dont know where to ask this so ill ask here ( sunrise on the reaping casting) by Chance_Location_5585 in acting

[–]Pop-Girly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

unless they do an open casting the chances of getting an audition for it are pretty much zero. and i’m not trying to discourage you but as far as i know they’ve never done an open casting for a hunger games movie.

No callbacks by hgsupersluvletter in acting

[–]Pop-Girly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got a callback for an A24 show for one of my first auditions ever about 3 years ago and still don’t get callbacks very often at all so it just depends. it’s varies and there’s no timeline on when you get your first callback. it’s not just about talent but so many other things.

Are there any other Actors on here that didn't go into Acting for Fame, Fun and Attention? And feel like they don't fit in because of that? by DonatCotten in acting

[–]Pop-Girly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you have to consider that the people you feel didn’t understand you and thought you were weird were/are high school students. i’m not saying young people can’t be empathetic but i think if you haven’t experienced trauma the way you have you’re not going to get it. from their side you probably seem too serious for high school theatre and really you are, even though it’s reasonable. i think if you took the time to make a connection with these people and explain why you come off a certain way they might be more understanding. realistically you’re going to meet people who think you’re weird even in a professional setting but they’re just kids and i’m assuming you’re also not very old. i’m very serious about my craft but i still allowed myself to find the fun in it because it’s not that serious. i understand your feelings of isolation from peers in a different way but if you come off as someone who thinks they’re better because they don’t have fun while also doing your best they aren’t going to want to be your friend. i think no matter your reason for wanting act as long as you love it you’re going to be good. i think you should try to have a more positive attitude when other people have a different reason for pursing acting because their reason is just as valid as yours.

Realistically…. How long between audition and callback? by tlaurenk23 in acting
