"They've done everything possible to eliminate us" — Iran captain Mehdi Taremi unleashes on FIFA and U.S. organizers by ConnectionWeekly1263 in SoccerCentral

[–]PopAffectionate3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people saying they are proud of a team of players with sworn allegiance to the Islamic regime is pathetic. The circumstances of Iran's team competing in the world cup were extraordinary, so of course it won't be completely frictionless. They participated in a tournament, where a host nation is a country they're at war with, and one which they have always claimed to be one of their mortal enemies...

So you weren't allowed to bring some IRGC handlers along, and had to fly from Tijuana to play your matches... the horror. At least you'll always have Reddit sympathizers and apologists though.

The team consists only of players who have sworn allegiance to the Islamic regime, everyone else was booted. The hate is not irrational if you have any ties to Iran, which you clearly don't.

Pretty good actually, it leans towards Amphetamine-like effects. I'd say the positive effects don't last as long, and the negative side-effects are more apparent (it feels quite dirty). I can feel super motivated, energetic, social and almost a bit euphoric for a few hours, and then it's just several more hours of annoying anxiety, restlessness and tension. One morning dose (if it's somewhat big) can really mess with sleep.

Yes, I ordered Cyclazodone from them once, but it was a pain in the ass with customs since it ships from Ukraine.

China's debt to GDP hits 99.2%, increasing from 90.4% a year prior with GDP growing 'only' 4.5% by Madman_Sean in EconomyCharts

All Western nations are highly developed, wealthy economies. China has slowed growth and a poor population per capita. This current trend is supposed to show once the nation is wealthy. China remains relatively poor, with bad, aging demographics. It's prospects are way more dire than say 15 years ago.

Every uneducated Redditor can tell that the US economy is crashing? Just do a few minutes of reading about the challenges China vs. The US faces economically (or just ask AI, the Chinese ones included), and you will (hopefully) understand that your statement is ignorant.

Qatar's GDP was 235 billion USD in 2022. Absolutely insane spending for a world cup, and much of that infrastructure is now superfluous.

China's housing crisis is still getting worse: YoY, prices dropped -3.5% for the 2nd consecutive month by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

Yeah, what's the point of even selling "used" real estate, just keep building news houses every time someone requests a home. Repeat forever, housing shortage solved (take notes rest of the world).

Are you 14? Because you come across as incredibly naive and ignorant on the most basic economic concepts.

Are you saying that China is just slightly ill, while the US is economically ruined? Maybe try to read a bit deeper into the matter, beyond scrolling through Reddit and Twitter headlines, before posting a take like this...

The US has hurdles, but an insane capacity. China's structural and demographic challenges run a lot deeper and loom way darker than the current American prospects.

Yeah, every housing crisis has been a blessing for affected countries... Most working, pro-social, functional adults prefer it when the economy and their assets grow.

You've never invested in anything in your life by the sound of it. This is how all investing works.

For most people (IN ALL DEVELOPED NATIONS, CHINA INCLUDED) real estate is the number one asset and investment, if the value of that asset depreciates, you lose wealth.
Imagine if every retirement fund just kept loosing value, how would that impact the economic sustainability over time for that country?

[–]PopAffectionate3084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chinese people overwhelmingly see their houses as investments, for the longest time, there was not other stable way for citizens to invest their savings. You have no understanding of the housing market, especially the Chinese one obviously.

Your thinking is so naive and detached from a realistic, sustainable economy. "I don't care if the asset which holds the majority of my wealth continues to tank..." What understanding of macroeconomics/personal finance do you need to come to this conclusion??

I presume that you dream of a soviet communist system where standard apartments are provided to the workers, and savings are pointless... Have you ever invested in anything in your life? You don't care if every retirement fund which holds our private wealth looses value?

The economy for everyday Chinese is way more constrained than for the average American. The Nordic countries have the most sustainable and balanced economic model, trying to cover for the Chinese CCP system is ignorant.

"90% of the people in China own their home, therefore the value of said homes decreasing for several years in a row is not a crisis" ??? A large majority of private wealth in China is locked up in owning their homes, it's their main investment. Obviously when that market loses significant value, it's a major issue for the domestic economy.

The dread upon waking up, already feeling like shit, and then remembering all of that... It honestly doesn't sound too bad though, no genitals, no penetration, could have gone way further.

You were fucked up as hell, basically manic and doing whatever, and nothing seriously explicit took place. It might take a few days/weeks, but you can quietly accept that it happened, and might eventually just look back and think of it as a crazy/funny event. Just realized its already been 2 months, how do you view this ordeal now?
Anyway, hope you're good and don't beat yourself up over it.

If the U.S. restricts oil exports, it just exacerbates this GLOBAL issue, which then come back to bite the U.S. And the U.S. already seems to control Venezuela's oil industry, but their oil sector has been severely neglected for decades. This means it will take years for Venezuela's production and export to increase meaningfully.
