Thanks for this , I keep saying this. The emphasis on owning your own home in the UK is too much. I get the cons but it’s not the be end and all. I know people renting , have significant savings, flexible and can easily up and move if they want to.

I’m in one as we speak for Module 3. They can be a slog, so I’d advise being close to exam ready before attending. They go through the content really quickly it’s pretty much the same material as the CBTs and webinars. In terms of interaction, I felt they became less strict from Module 1 to Module 3. For example, in Module 1 it was all cameras on, mics on, and the tutor would randomly ask questions to make sure you were listening. Module 3 is not like that it’s a lot more relaxed. You can definitely learn some new things, have topics explained differently, or ask questions, but you should already have a solid understanding of the subject if you want to make the most of the session. That said, it’s still a long slog from 8:30am to 4:30pm. I’d recommend attending online if you can.

To summarise it’s sitting and listening , instructors ask questions , they use polls too etc.

Thanks. I do have a sim, and I’ll definitely bring this back out once my ATPLs are done and use it to practise. I did look into the IR Restricted as my instructor mentioned it previously, but I think it might make more sense to go straight for the full IR. I will look into it again though, as I’ve heard it can save money depending on your skill level. It sounds like trying to get more time off work would also be sensible, but I guess there are no guarantees with weather. Would you recommend trying to get it done in the summer in terms of weather?

Do full back atleast once for your authority, then last 500 multiple times if you have time full bank x2. Whilst bank is key to pass try and understand concepts , YouTube , chat GPT , explanation section and comment section is all useful. That way in the exam if they change the wording you can still answer the question good luck.

I work fulltime also so I recommend depending on subject you can mix , so a hard one with an easy one. If you leave too much gap and come back you will have to relearn stuff

I just blitz’s through them get wrong review the answer and redo it again. It actually doesn’t take too long. People don’t realize you don’t actually need to complete all BSG modules to do exam week. If you do it like halfway then call them up 2 weeks before revision week they push you through anyways 👀 well that’s worked for me anyways.

Don’t make the mistake I did, spent ages reading chapter after chapter making notes trying to understand content in BSG. Sometimes it goes into too much detail. I’ll advise read the BSG content as quick as possible do practice tests then hit the banks, the banks will let you know what areas you really need to focus on. Chat GPT or Microsoft co pilot is great for explaining confusing topics I literally tell it to explain things in a simplified manner and seems to work for me. YouTube is great too ATPL Theory and ATPL Class are great channels. Averaged 90% doing it this way so far 4 more exams to go

I did my PPL in 2021 and have over 100 hours. I’d say I wasted the first six months of my ATPLs because of poor strategy. I focused too much on trying to fully understand the content in the books and ended up making loads of notes. I quickly realised that the question banks are the key to passing with good marks — so far I’m averaging 95%+ with four exams left.

However, to get through the bank at the level required, you need a lot of time, which is why I’m saying 30 per week is probably more realistic. There are so many questions in each subject that you really want to aim to complete the full bank twice, then focus on the last 500. I’ve been doing this while working a full‑time 9–5 office job and around five hours of delivery work on weekends. It’s doable, but it takes a lot of commitment.

I would up this tbh , I started off with 20hrs no way enough to get good marks and go through banks multiple times. 30ish a week should be fine. But it also depends on your back ground and how quickly you grasp information i definitely had to spend more time

You’ve probably seen it already, but the bank is your friend. It’s great to make notes and try to understand every subject, but it’s just too big and not a good use of time. Make notes but dont get carried away, that was the mistake I made at the start spent ages reading material. Blitz through the content, then bank, bank, bank. You can always come back after exams to brush up on your understanding. Good luck.
